Grab your party hat because today is… BOOK RELEASE DAY!

Yes, Everything is Figureoutable, my labor of book love is finally out in the world. Hot off the press with a shiny new cover in bookstores, shipping warehouses, and mailboxes worldwide.

To celebrate, we’re doing something different today on MarieTV. My best friend, Kris Carr, has taken over our show and put me in the interview hot seat.

It couldn’t be more fitting because she’s been with me every step of the book writing process, and talked me down from the stress ledge too many times to count.

Best of all, Kris knows just how meaningful this book baby is to me. She knows that Everything is Figureoutable is the synthesis of my life, career, journey, and purpose on this earth. Our conversation is full of tears, laughter, and real talk — the kind that you can only share with your BFF. Join us to get a peek inside the stories, exercises, and science behind Everything is Figureoutable.

You’ll also learn:

  • How to defeat the #1 most common excuse that holds us back from fulfilling our dreams.
  • An exercise straight out of the book that helped Kris overcome her fear of rollercoasters.
  • My response to a skeptical 8-year-old who asked, “Is everything really figureoutable?”

You’ll learn why it was so important that I write this book, and why it’s critical you read it now.

  1. Loved this so much. Your energy together is awesome. When I put together my MSc in Neuroscience next to the Self-Help stuff, things finally started to make sense. Loving the book [not yet finished] so far. <3
I also love how you take concepts and make them applicable to life. When I first bought my car, I’d not seen many of them but that week after, they were EVERYWHERE. Love knowing the biology of our experience. It’s exactly why I’ve created Rooted Reinvention, for those of us who want to be our best self but don’t know how to merge the science, spirit and self help.
You both rock, and thank you so much for this interview.

    • Julia - Team Forleo

We’re so glad you enjoyed this conversation with Marie and Kris! It sounds like you’ve created such a unique mix of neuroscience and self-help with Rooted Reinvention and we’re cheering you on as you continue helping others to be their best selves with your gifts. YES – it’s so powerful to merge understanding the science with practical applications. Keep up the amazing work you’re doing in the world!

  2. Claire

I am super excited to get my hands on this book! I am really needing this in my life right now! Thank you so much for writing this. I have just had an update from Amazon that my copy is on the way, I’ll be waiting by the mailbox for the next 8 days and will probably hug the postie when they arrive! And i’ve just booked my ticket to come and see you in Melbourne! I wish you safe travels, thank you so much, Claire xo

    • Julia - Team Forleo

YAY, Claire! So excited to hear that your copy of the book is on its way to you. We can’t wait for you to have it in your hands, give it a big hug, and dive in! Be sure that you’ve signed up for the free immersion program in October right here, too: Hooray that you’ll also be seeing Marie in Melbourne! We can’t wait for you to connect with her in person 🙂

  3. Martina Miletic

Thank you Marie for one more inspiring interview.
I can’t wait to start reading the book!!
I started to listen to your interviews about 1,5 year ago, and literaly changed my life since then.
Your title of the book is on my personal Facebook cover for over a year, because I realized that really everything is figureoutable!

Thank you so much for being such an inspiration, such a wonderfull guide, such a great teacher!!
    Thank you very much!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

We LOVE this, Martina! It’s such an honor to have you in our community and we’re excited for you to dive into the book, too! Everything really is figureoutable 🙂

  4. Congratulations, Marie! 🙂 Your enthusiasm is contagious! Can’t wait to get my hands on the book.
Also, as a recovering perfectionist, what you said about perfectionism and suicide really hit me – such important information!
Thanks for sharing your energy and wisdom with all of us! Sending you love from the other side of the world (Slovenia, Europe…right next to Italy;))

  5. Stephanie Hubbard

My words will not express how much I loved this interview! Ladies, you’re both my Dream Champions!!! So much love, honesty, wisdom, authenticity emanates from both of you. With all my heart, thank you and I love you xxx
I cannot wait to get my copy of the book! I’m living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands where I preordered it some time ago. It’s on the way to my place, today! Unfortunately, I’m in Poland with the family, until the end of October and it’s not easy to get the book over here. But I just decided to order another copy via Amazon because it’s worth it! It should be in my hands, next week Monday. Can’t wait! This is the book of the year!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

We adore you, Ula! Love hearing that you’ll have a copy of the book in your hands sooner than later. You can always gift your other copy to a very lucky friend or family member! Make sure you’ve also signed up for the free immersion program happening in October here: Enjoy diving in so much 🙂 xoxo

      • Ula

Thank you Julia! And yes, that was exactly my thought, to give the extra copy to someone I love 🙂 I did sign up for the immersion program. What a beautiful gift it is! Looking forward to it! Once again, thank you a million!

  7. Marie is wearing a killer outfit! Those earrings with that shirt—superb!!! Thanks for the book 🙂

  8. John Garland

The one thing that really made me stand up and take note was the exercise of changing the word can’t to won’t. As I listened to you talk about it I was able to see that can’t made you weak, while won’t empowers you to do. Can’t will always rob you of your choices, while won’t will always give you a choice. I was very quickly reminded of another word change for everyone that will also empower you to make and that is; “need to,” to “get to.” “Need to” weakens you by telling yourself that you’re not enough, or that you lack in something, whereas “get to” empowers you with both ability and willingness.

From a biblical standpoint, Romans 12: 2 tells us to renew our minds from worldly, dis-empowering thoughts to empowering, Godly thoughts. Everything that weakens you is worldly and everything that strengthens you is Godly. As it is written; “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4: 13.

    • Julia - Team Forleo

YES, John! These are such empowering re-frames. Thank you for sharing your perspective on this here!

  9. Marie and Kris,

You’re both absolutely amazing and such an inspiration in all kinds of magical ways. Thank you kindly for all the fear you’ve faced and conquered to be a light upon this earth.

The biggest thing I’m taking away is the connection I saw and felt in you two as best friends. You’re an example of what we can do for each other – continue to believe in one another and be a source of comfort, guidance and drive.

    Kudos to you lovely ladies!

  10. And of course, CONGRATULATIONS on your book!!! It’s already on its way to me. I’m headed to England and cannot wait to read it and get lost in all the goodness!!!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

Aww Tabitha! This means so much to us. We’re happy to hear you’re feeling inspired by Marie & Kris’ beautiful friendship. And YAY – your book is on its way to you!! We can’t wait for to soak up all the goodness. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our community! XOXO

  11. Alexandtra

Hi Marie.! Am so glad i gave myself the time to watch this interview coz it was very inspiring. First am glad that you mentioned other mantras besides everything is Figureoutable which of course is awesome and i have learnt to live by since i heard you on Oprah. Anyways, i hold dear to my heart the belief that once you let your brain know exactly what you want magical shit will start happening coz i have seen it the whole of this year. Yes! CLARITY IS POWER & we value PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION! I have grown so much as i continue watching and listening to you Marie. Am all the way in Kenya and i don’t know how to get the book. But you have helped me so much already. Thanks,!!!!
    Sending love!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

Hi Alexandtra! We’re really glad to hear you enjoyed this episode and found it inspiring. Yes – mantras are SUCH a powerful way to create shifts in our beliefs and brains! We love knowing that our work has been supportive for you.

  12. MARIE!! This was incredibly powerful – at first I couldn’t imagine how I was going to just sit for almost an hour and watch. But it was so rich I found myself hitting pause so I could take notes. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  13. Hey Marie, really glad that you expanded your talk to be able to fully talk about your book and shout out to your bestie Kris for being able to match your energy to make this an engaging ‘interview’. I’m stoked to see your book arrive in the mail today. Congrats!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

Glad you enjoyed this conversation, Crystal! Can’t wait for you to dive into the book! Thank you for being here 🙂

  14. Nola Snyder

My copy is on the way! Thank heavens I preordered. One time I did not procrastinate. Such a great interview with relatable , figureoutable truths to put into action. This is why so many like myself watch MarieTV. This book may just be like sitting down with my wisest , most honest BFF with a dollop of sass . Thank you for birthing it! Congratulations.

    • Julia - Team Forleo

  16. Rebecca

I am excited for the timing of this book. Just yesterday I was pushed to my limits at the job I can’t stand. I’ve got over 20 years in and I’m very valuable to the operations of my team, but I’m hitting a wall and know in my heart the answer is to leave. I have an amazing dream for dog rescue, but I’m terrified to take the leap. I have to wonder if the timing of all this in on purpose. Deep down, I hope so.

    • Julia - Team Forleo

We’re sending of tons of support and positive wishes your way, Rebecca! We absolutely understand that these big transitions can be challenging, so be gentle with yourself and keep trusting that wise voice within. We’re thrilled the book is coming at a good time for you and hope it’s so helpful. Keep us posted about your dog rescue dream and how it’s coming along – so exciting!

    • Candy Daughtry

I have my book. Yay! Congratulations and more success. I have a fear that has held me back since I was in my early 20s and I’m 57 now. Back then I remember taking some sort of class and we were told to write down our goals. I can’t remember what I wrote but I came out of that class believing I would fail if I try to set a goal. Even this morning I remember how this has held me back and I’ve let this hinder me from growing my business. I need to push pass this yesterday. Looking forward to getting free from this finally.

  17. Got my book yesterday. YEAH! I love the feel of it. Can’t wait to read it.
    Thank you so much Marie!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

YAY! We’re so glad, Patricia. Enjoy diving in!

  18. I loved watching this SO MUCH! Kris and Marie, you two are #bestiegoals. I preordered your book on Audible, Marie, and I can’t wait to dig in! Thank you for being you and inspiring me every day. Congratulations on your book birthday! <3

  19. Lisa

Holy sh*t! That is what through my brain when you and the lovely Kris Carr went through the Progress not Perfection section. I know I’ve heard it before, but hearing it again really brings it home. I started the book this morning and cannot wait to finish it. I’m actually disappointed I have stuff to do today! Thank you so much, Marie!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

We LOVE that you’re already diving in, Lisa! Glad to hear this conversation with Marie and Kris, and the topic of Progress not Perfection in particular, resonated so deeply with you. Thank you for tuning in and being such a wonderful part of our community!

  20. I can’t wait for the book to be delivered (September 12th in the UK)!

  21. This was so great! This ties in some of the awesome messages I’ve already heard from you and reinforced them. It was also really reassuring as I’m just weeks away from taking a giant, scary leap in taking my teeny tiny business to a really big city! Ugh! Fear radar!! It also made me think of a friend who needs to hear this stuff and even if she only listens to this one episode, I hope it will make a difference for her big dream.
I can’t wait to get my book! I’m in limbo land for books right now but I’ll be able to get my copy in approx…3.5 weeks – wahoooooo!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

We’re so excited for you, Sarah! Remember, your fear and discomfort is a GOOD thing – guiding you towards your growth and where your soul most wants to go. You’ve got this! Yes – please do share this with your friend who could benefit, too 🙂 We can’t wait for you to have your book soon!

  22. Laura

Cried multiple times and got the book! Congrats Marie. Thank you for bringing Kris to the show! You both are amazing souls.

  23. I CAN NOT WAIT to see you in CHICAGO!!!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting for today just as much as you have, you have been such an inspiration to me and I absolutely adore you!

PS, I am in Mobile Manicurist in Chicago and the offer is out there to have a manicure on me in Chicago! I hope you take me up on my offer and secretly, this would be a dream to do so!

Thanks Marie for sharing your gifts!

    Diane Diaz

    • Julia - Team Forleo

SO excited you’ll be in Chicago, Diane! This is such a generous, thoughtful offer. While Marie and the team’s time in the city is fully booked and she won’t be able to squeeze anything else in this time, please know how grateful we are for your kind offer. We adore having you in our community and can’t wait to connect with you in person!

  24. This was absolutely fabulous and really worth watching all the way. I have always been self-inspired and I do follow a wide list of mentors / coaches and I hasten to add Marie, you are certainly on this list. Thank You.

  26. I can´t wait for this book to come today! I am so excited!

    Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. Ciara Gutierrez

    Marie & Team :
Last night in NYC was simply incredible. From the moment I walked into the door I was filled with hope and faith in the lessons that I knew we were all going to learn together. What a beautiful night! Thank you for this episode, it was a good way to reinforce the wisdom you shared last night. So grateful for you all!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

Dear Ciara! We’re SO thrilled you were there last night and had an amazing time ?? Thank you, thank you for joining us. We’re so grateful to have you as an amazing part of our community and absolutely LOVED connecting with you in person! XOXO

  28. There are no two women who are more authentic and honest and hardworking then the two of you. 10+ years I have watched you both thrive and I am so happy to see where you are now AND that you are selfless in wanting the same for others. I know I have benefitted from you both immensely, thank you. I am putting my headphones on and not taking them off until I am done with this book. Congratulations Marie, and thank you for ALL you do for so many. Great to see you both on the sofa together!!!

  29. You are such a dream champion! Kris is so awesome right when she said that =) Thank you so much for this awesome inspiration, it’s actually a first time that I wanted this to become an inspired action and go forth that awesome dreams of mine! Plus I am so proud to be called a multi passionate entrepreneur just because you let me feel that my dreams are all worthy and I am worth it! =)

    • Julia - Team Forleo

YES Bernie! Keep going for those dreams of yours 🙂 We know you have what you need within you to bring them to life. And cheers to being a multipassionate entrepreneur! We’re glad this has been a helpful term for you; you and your dreams are absolutely worthy – the world needs your gifts! Team Forleo is sending so much encouragement your way.

  30. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’m getting goosebumps and teary-eyed at 48:36 minutes in, not because this is the first time that you are saying something meaningful to me (I have a notebook full of your Quotables just from this video alone), but because you are dead on regarding a longtime dream of mine. For all of my teens into adulthood (I am 55 years of age now) what I would rather be doing as a career that I’ve never told a living soul (not even my husband) is to create film and TV programming of my own creation. Now, most people know I love and have worked in the entertainment industry, but not that I’ve had ideas and dreams of creating my own animated movie and tv shows. That I’ve created treatments that have sat in sealed envelopes for over 10 years. My reasoning was FEAR and saying CAN’T instead of WON’T. The fear of not being good enough. The fear of failing or doing it wrong. Saying I can’t work on it because I don’t have the time or it’s impossible because I’m not qualified. I believed for so long that because I never finished college that I wasn’t qualified to fulfill my dream of becoming a film or TV producer. So thank you as always for your wisdom and for giving me some much needed clarity and finally for writing Everything is Figueoutable. I plan to read it every morning starting today!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

Edie, you can do this – we believe in you! We’re so excited for you to create your own film and television programming. What a beautiful dream. Remember, you have everything you need within you to bring this vision to life. We’ll be cheering you on and hope the book is so helpful along the way! So glad this episode was helpful and moving for you. XO

  31. You’re Awesome! I love what you have to say…. I love your enthusiasm and I love how right you are!! I swear you’re liv’n in my brain….. I’m excited for my journey and with your mindful pushes… even if they are just via podcast and the book…. I know I’ll be successful and I know I get out of my own way! Thank you and best of luck with the tour and the rest of the Launch!

  32. Anita

Great interview! I love Marie’s words of wisdom and fun stories. I ordered the pre-order and I am waiting on my book to arrive – can’t wait! I am inspired to get cracking on writing my own book which has been on the back-burner for a long time now!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

Wishing you all the best with your book, Anita! We hope Everything is Figureoutable is just the inspiration you need to keep going. Enjoy!

  33. Hello ladies,
This was fun to watch with my morning coffee today.
Here’s the crazy thing – this NJ girl did the SAME EXACT thing on a mini-bike years ago! I was thinking, I had a motorcycle license, I’ve got this, and BOOM, BAM, SPLAT – there I went with the bike on top of me! (plz note, it was about decade since I was on a bike of any kind). What did I hurt the most? My pride — felt like a TOTAL goober, but nothing was broken (just pretty banged up). 🙂
My AUDIBLE book arrived today, and cannot wait to invite Marie into my living room with my friend Alexa! 🙂
    ~ Lee

  34. Carol

I love these two women. They are strong, beautiful through and through. I had already pre-ordered the book and it should be on my kindle now. But I had to watch this interview. Sooo many insights. And yes, multi-passionate – I stopped feeling like a freak about that some time back, although it creeps back once in a while.
But when you talked about the perfectionism – I fell apart. I am still crying while writing this. You two alway seem to hit a point I have to work on.
Thanks! And, Marie, thanks for the book.

  35. I just ordered this book after watching Marie’s video! I love that this book has brain science in it! And I signed up for the workshop too. Do you think its a good sign that the workshop starts on MY BIRTHDAY! Before watching I didn’t think I would order book because I fell into depression after B school. But I know this book will help me! It will help to walk my own unique path.

    • Julia - Team Forleo

That’s absolutely a good sign, Rita! We’re really sorry to hear that you’ve been going through a challenging time recently, and hope the book and program are so supportive for you. Sending big hugs and Team Forleo love your way, take good care of you!

  36. ? Marie! …just listening to your interview with Kris Carr, the part about how the universe helps things happen when you’re clear, and the delivery man appeared at my door and put your book into my hands! Isn’t that wild?! Can’t wait to read it; thank you so much. R. xo

    • Julia - Team Forleo

How magical and perfect is that, Roxanne! LOVE it 🙂 We hope you enjoy the book so much! xoxo

  37. CONGRATULATIONS MARIE!!! I can’t wait for my mailperson to deliver the book today! Thank you for everything. xoxoxoxo

  38. OMG!!! I learned something totally new and awesome! I’ve binge watched many of your videos and was so looking forward to hear more from you on this interview. I would say the biggest take away from this one is the ****Reticular Activating System (RAS)****. I’ve never heard of this before, but it explains so much! It’s why I often hear the phrase “the universe will conspire to get you what you want.”

Marie- Thank you SO MUCH for everything that you do. I’m so excited to read your book and hopefully see you in LA!

  39. Love you two! xoxoxo Thank you <3

  40. Crystal McKay

My biggest takeaway is that it is ok to pursue different opportunities and not feel embarressed about making those changes. I currently am going through a personal journey and feel I am working harder at pleasing others then myself. That part about not feeling embarrassed or ashamed had me tear me up as it hit me right in the feels. I will start emplying the won’t concept as I like the idea of that. I have a goal to start my own business and my biggest struggle is the financing but thatis figureoutable and I have to stop saying I cant get the money. Thank you for all the inspiration, and if your ever looking to add to your team I would love to help and spread the word that we can figure anything out.

  41. Amazing!!!!!! Thank you for being so inspiring – I watch you every week and have learned and experienced so much. Today was a double whammy with both you and Kris and talking about fear and perfection hit home for me. As a newer coach myself, I’m in the process of changing my messaging and focus to body image, which is uncomfortable for many – very scary and daunting and when I check in with myself I am on the right path and fueling my passion. I love that “we never get to there if we don’t start here” – thank you. I can’t wait to get the book – it’s on order and can’t get here soon enough ❤️

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

Thank you so much, Suzanne! It’s not always easy putting yourself out there, but your coaching clients will LOVE you for it. You’re doing beautiful work; keep going! 🙂

  42. Wow my two fav people! It only could have been better if Gabby Bernstein is here too haha:)
I love, love, love what you do Marie and your personality, and can’t wait for the book to arrive, literally checking the package box in every half an hour! Clear out my schedule and tonight I am diving into your book, can’t wait!

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

YAY, Judit! It should be in your mailbox any second! 🙂

  43. Dawn Engler

First! I want a mug! My book is on the truck for delivery today! CANNOT wait to dive in. You two gals are a force in the world of empowering women. Everything we do brings us to this moment in time, over and over, and here I am gleaning more from you both. My biggest takeaway I think will be diving into and dissecting the truth of importance or excuses and where do I really sit with things I want to do. Kinda can’t wait to dig into time spent on social, which I bitch about to my partner all the time. Seeing the truth may be the catalyst to change.
Thank you in advance of reading this book, for what I know will be life changing for me.
    Love to you BOTH.

  44. Preeti T

Thank you, thank you, thank you Marie and Kris for this heart-to-heart conversation. My major takeaways are:
    1. Define your fear in order to conquer it. After quitting my job few years back, I had become a loner. I mostly go out by myself, or just spend hours surfing the Internet (not on frivolous things, but reading news, TED talks, etc.) and at the end of the day still feel miserable. This had slowly given way to fear of speaking in social or public setup. I get all sweaty and panicky when I have to speak even within a group discussion with my friends. So, I’ve lately joined a social club of girls that meet monthly over lunch. We dress up and talk about the dress we are wearing and the conversations just flow from there. I’m slowly getting back into the groove and learning to ride back up again.
    2. Tracking my time for 7 days. I know that technology takes most of my time, but I’m sure seeing it on paper would be a game changer. I’m going to start doing this today.
    3. Progress not perfection. I’m going to take baby steps towards few projects I’ve been intending to do without worrying about a perfect outcome.
Looking forward to meeting you in person during your book tour!

  45. Getting a little teary-eyed over here, watching this. I have been watching your videos ever since that humble brick wall, and I feel honoured to have witnessed your journey from the sideline.
I am also a B-schooler, and while I have still not experienced my financial break-through all your knowledge and encouragement has been invaluable on my journey so far.
Thankyou for being in this world with us all.
And have fun on your book tour!!
    Congratulaaaatiiiiooooonssssss!!!! 🙂

    • Maja - Team Forleo

Thank you SO much, Camilla! It’s an honor to have you as a B-Schooler! ?

  46. LOVE-LOVE-LOVE you both and all the nuggets of wisdom you bring in this interview!! I’ve been sooo excited for my book to arrive all weekend, and finally… Tuesday is here!! I went to bed like I was seven years old, waiting for Santa to arrive, because I’m so damn excited for the mailman to bring me my book!!
♥ So much love and gratitude for all you do ♥

  47. Thank you Marie and Kris for this very engaging and insightful episode! I am halfway thru “Everything is Figureoutable” and it is truly a game changer for me. I love how you identified the difference between intuition vs. fear and naming physical symptoms. So very important and I talk about this too in my writings! The other takeaway relates to having a thought manifest into your everyday life. It does happen when we aren’t consciously thinking or even aware. It can come in a photo, an email, a blog post, a hug, or words from someone. For me, it’s a specific word now ever present in my life more than before. We do need to take action to get those dreams going! Thank you again ladies and am excited for the free training soon (:

  48. Bought it today! Thank for you, Marie, for changing my life when I took B-School in 2013. You’re a major reason I’m a full-time freelance copywriter living the location-independent life of my dreams (for several years now).

    Congratulations! XO

  49. I listened to this as I drove to appointments this morning. I absorbed so many lessons along the way, none of them new or unique, but today I was really ready to hear them. I came home and took inspired action to finish up my website, wrote two emails asking to meet with potential clients, and left fear behind. I replaced “can’t” and “won’t” with can and will! I thought if Marie was in the room with me, kicking my butt and believing in me, I could and would do it. Thank you again for being an inspiration for so many of us. My book(s) arrive tomorrow. Apparently I ordered two of them so someone is getting the gift of Marie. It keeps on giving. Congratulations Marie and Team Forleo!

    • Maja - Team Forleo

Look at you go, Kathy! Kudos for turning inspiration into action straight away! We can’t wait to see where you take these new insights.

I was torn between watching this or diving into by copy of the book which arrived today! I’m glad I watched this first because it has given me some things to think about as I read the book. What spoke to me the most…..When Marie talked about thinking about your dream and focusing on the actual physical feelings that happen. I did it right then and realized that I immediately felt happy and stood a little straighter. I started getting butterflies in my stomach (they are still there as I type this). I already know that lots of people have already done what I want to do but, they haven’t done it my way! I also know that, as a perfectionist , yes one of the ones who actually WAS suicidal many years ago, it’s me fear that’s holding me back. Do I really know enough??? Yes! I really do…The first thing I want to do is actually finish BSchool! I signed up and “Life Happened” after the second module and I never got back it….Thank you for the reminder that my dreams matter and even in my mid 50s there is time to make them come true!
I’d love to see Marie and Kris do more together. There energy and positivity are absolutely contagious!
Wishing everyone who reads this success in all your endeavors!

    • Maja - Team Forleo

Hi Davida! Thank you so much for sharing! Isn’t it incredible what happens when we tune into our physical sensations? Our bodies hold so much wisdom. We so look forward to supporting you on your B-School journey, and helping you bring your dreams to life!

  51. Great conversation. And, Marie, I’m so glad you wrote the book… I’ve been an EIF proponent for years (my favorite quote over the years has been “Nothing is impossible if it can be done” – Sir Nicholas Hinton, “Britain’s Schindler”). I’ve done things that, by rights, I shouldn’t have done or be doing other than because I want to do it and I’ll figure out a way to make it work – at 65, I’ve become a serial entrepreneur (multi-passionate business owner, in the field of creative problem-solving); in my 50’s I moved to Mexico for a year to teach English, not knowing a word of Spanish; I was determined, after 25 years of being single with serial failing relationships to find the love of my life – I met him nearly five years ago and our 2nd wedding anniversary is this month. I’m proof that this stuff works! PS, I’ll see you at Town Hall in Seattle on 9/17 🙂

    • Dearest Darling daring amazing Marie.
Great interview. As my dream champion
I can’t wait to get this book. You are so beloved and helpful. So happy to listen to most of your interviews what a change maker you are in this world! And doing it so beautifully!!
      Lots of love and light.

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

This is AWESOME, Ellia! I love everything about your comment and am so happy for you and everything you’ve accomplished with your figureoutable outlook. We can’t wait to see you at the Seattle stop!

  52. Karyn Lasei

Congrats Marie! I’m so excited for you and I can’t wait to grab myself a copy. I absolutely loved this episode – jam packed with so much goodness that it’s one I’ll refer back to many times over. I was updating my FB profile intro the other day and I was struggling to articulate what I do professionally and thankfully I was reminded of the term you coined “multi-passionate entrepreneur”. So this is how I describe myself and it’s been a great conversation starter. Wishing you all the best for your book tour and hopefully I’ll be able to attend one in Australia.

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

That’s so great to hear, Karyn! It sounds like the “multi-passionate entrepreneur” description is getting people interested in all the wonderful work you’re doing. 🙂 We’ve got our fingers crossed we’ll see you at one of the Australia stops!

  53. Felicia

I’m so happy. My book came TODAY! Good luck with your tour.

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

YAY! So glad yours arrived, Felicia. 🙂

Ladies, you are a source of inspiration for me. If I am ask – Who would you invite for an awesome and delicious dinner party i would say, Marie and Kris!-. Thank you so much for what you both offer to this planet. much love from Colombia muak

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

Thank you, Luisa! We’re so glad you enjoyed this interview and we’re honored you’re a B-Schooler and part of our loving global family. <3

  59. Diane

Who is Josh, Marie? By the way, I was crying along with the both of you earlier! Loving the chat… I can relate totally to some of the things you’re discussing…

Loved this interview, love you both and can’t wait to start reading my book which arrived today! xxx

  62. Ingrid

Congratulations on the book Marie. I haven’t bought it yet but I’m sure that when I do, I’ll enjoy it! Thanks for all your hard work inspiring many thousands of people!
I hope you get the book translated in Spanish, I know my mom would love your book! hugs from Vancouver.

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

We’d love for your sweet mom to read the book in Spanish! Everything is Figureoutable was born speaking 18 languages, so it should be available at your favorite Spanish language bookstore. 🙂

  63. Anna

Thankyou SO much for this interview!!! The best. I cannot believe the timing. This is just what I needed. And thank you both, for all your wise words and experience (always). I can definitely feel the love. You are both so inspiring. I’m in Australia and I’ve just ordered the book. And it ships today. Woohoo! I am SO excited to read it.

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

YAY, Anna! We hope you love it. 🙂

  64. Emie

I have discovered you in my journey of awakening my inner fire in 2011 and MarieTV has become with time my go-to to give myself a boost and/or reality check for my bs. Through life tragedies and moments of happiness you have supported me in a way I never expected just by knowing I could go on youtube and try to find a Q&A that talks about just what I am dealing with. Instead of watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I would watch you as your videos are as comforting AND also rich for self-growth.
The part where you talk about the woman who’s mom was diagnosed with cancer made me tear up as many I can imagine have. Having gone through a similar situation I know how powerless one can feel and I felt a wave of love for you and that woman because I feel more powerful in my own life knowing inspiring people like you exist. It gives me strenght to know that magic can happen from a distance just by finding a space where there are true and important conversations that some people might feel shameful about.
I feel like I’ve known you for a long time now and even though I don’t personnally know you Mary, I am very happy for you and know that you have among many others someone that will keep following you, again from a distance and will be cheering for your victories. I can’t wait to read my pre-ordered book and get access to your class. Long live Marie and her whole team for that magic that changed my life.

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

Thank you so, SO much, Emie. Your comment made me tear up! With happy tears, of course. We appreciate you so much and can feel the positive energy you’re sending our way.

  65. Dearest Marie, Where do I start? How about – You flat out knocked it out of the park, Grand Slam! What a blessing it must be for you to have fulfilled a life long dream that will touch the lives of millions of people across the globe! Although I haven’t read the book yet, your presentation of the key points I truly believe will be a real game changer for many, including yours truly! I am chomping at the bit to read your masterpiece! And I love the way you delivered your message with your lifelong friend at your side! Chris was spot on with her cueing you up from the beginning to the end! And I was especially moved by the tears of joy welling up in your eyes as you spoke! Marie you truly have a very special gift and I want to thank you for sharing it for all the world to see! I am so incredibly happy for you and Josh and the sacrifice that you both made to turn your dream into reality! To have the depth of support of your two best friends must be an incredibly rewarding blessing for each of you! I can only imagine what blood, sweat, tears and prayers went into the development of your baby! You truly are a “New Thought Leader” who wears her heart on her sleeve! I cannot wait to read your book because I believe there is a message in there for me that will help me to free myself from the chains that bind me! May God continue to bless you and all of your intentions and your ministries! In much the same way that my life has been blessed by coming to know you and TeamForleo and being on the receiving end of your weekly messages! There is a very special place in my heart for you all and I am so looking forward to seeing you when you roll into Philly! Take good care of yourself on your world tour and God Bless You!

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

Thank you, Anthony! Your kind words and amazing well wishes mean a lot to us. We couldn’t do all this without you!

  66. Hasmukh S Modi

Happy to witness you in a very live, natural, spontaneous conversation. Looking forward to reading, studying and internalizing your mantra: Everything is Figureutable. Looking forward also to creating breakthrough by building up on this fresh belief: Everything IS Figuroutable. With a lot of regards, gratitude and love.

  67. Magical U 2

  68. Loved this IV and can’t wait for my book to arrive … hurry up Book Depository! Thank you both for all the wonderful work you do in the world.

  69. Wow Marie & Kriss!
I fell in love with you one more time. Your conversations and messaging is so touching, beautiful, sweet, human, generous, game changing, empowering etc. You are so amazing! And I am so glad to see you brought your BFF with you.
    Much Love
/Anna – follower from the old days and a Bschooler

    • Mandy - Team Forleo

Thank you, Anna! We adore you and are honored you’ve been a part of our community for so long. We’re filled with gratitude for you.

  70. Sue Dempsey

LOOOOVE this interview! Must find out more about the reticular activating system Marie describes – how exciting! A scientific explanation for Disney’s “When You Wish Upon A Star.” Spot on about how so many of us have been pleasing others for so long, we can’t remember our own dreams any more. Wonderful insights!

  71. Deb

Love it, Love it, Love it.
I could watch you two ladies interact all day long, thank you so much for this episode.
I am super excited to read the book, it is in my reading pile for my vacation.
Thanks for all that both of you bring to all of us.

  72. jann

yeah.. really? We’ve heard the same ole stories again and again… I did B school in 2015, i feel like I was brain washed into it……. Good for you all! jxx

    • jann

oh Nuuuu.. I didn’t mean it, really!!!! Im just feeling sorry for myself..after investing time and money in a crappy trip back to my home town to do some workshops in a very needy area…. none of my family would put me up so I stayed in an airbnb where I had to ask for the sheets to be changed on my arrival because they were soiled…the trip was sad and lonely.. I ‘ve learnt tho that I really do have to move on. Apologies again for my ‘Katty’ comment above. jxxxxx

  73. Jana

A truly special episode of Marie TV – your energy is so electric, your insights so deep and your tips so invaluable! I’m impatiently expecting the arrival of your ‘baby’ from Book Depository, can’t wait to dive in! Big Congratulations on this epic achievement, Marie!!! 🙂

  74. Betsy Bergman

Looking forward to reading the book! I am inspired and encouraged to know that we all have so much capacity to tap into to reach our dreams. Excited!

  75. Barbara Spikes

This is fabulous. I love Kris Carr. I preordered my copy months ago and am so happy that I can finally read it. I love the idea that if there’s an idea in you to do, you already have the ability to be able to make it happen. Yeah!

  76. Cheryl

I love you and love Kris Carr, but you’ve got to toss those earrings. Great interview.

  77. Thank you for such an inspirational interview. You have both made this interview a delicious conversation full of wisdom.

    • Jennifer - Team Forleo

Thank you so much for your kind words, Sandra, they mean so much!

  78. Akiko

Hi, Marie and the team. Just wanted to say congratulations on your latest book! I’ve ordered mine a while back and just got a message to say it’s on its way. I really wanted to join you on the 9th in NY. However, given my situation right now, I decided (it’s I won’t and not can’t) not. I kind of felt sad about it at the beginning (especially because the title of your book is called everything is figureoutable of course), but I feel I made a good decision for now and really looking forward to next opportunity to see you, Marie.

And thanks for this episode….with Marie and Kris, two people that I love. I’m working as an online health coach in Japan and yeah the mix of you two makes me, right!?

I was one of those that was enlightened by your idea of ‘multi-passionate entrepreneur’. Up until a few years ago I felt exactly the same with you Marie that I was not getting there, have fallen behind, not good enough compared to other people who managed to get a hold of one profession and climbed up the career ladder. However, your idea completely changed my view, thinking and the world around me. Now I am so proud of myself for what I am and what I do thanks to you….

I have yet to discover what I REALLY want to do with my life (clarity), but I’m definitely getting there with your help & all.

Thanks again and all the best for your book tour! I’d love to see you one day to thank you in person!!

    Love, xxx

  79. This is literally the best episode of MarieTV ever. I am going to watch it again and again. I feel like I’ve seen a new, deeper side of Marie, and of course I love Kris Carr! I am waiting for my copy of the book in the mail (I pre-ordered, but something got messed up at BN and it’s coming a little late and unsigned, sad), and I can already tell I’m going to want to buy extra copies when I’m done and give them away to friends and clients. Can’t wait! You should do more interviews like this!

  80. Tanya

What a special interview with two inspirational women, I loved it thank you and I can’t wait to see you in London. Not long now!

  81. I find that I say “I can’t” to other people but always say (or know within) that I “won’t” compromise what is important in terms of my time or attention

  82. Maria

First of all: I can’t wait to read the book! I’m sooooo excited about it 😀
But mostly, I just want to tell you Marie: I’m very very happy for you. Watching you and reading your emails in the preparation and the upcomming days of the release, one can totally feel the excitment and the love you put into this huge project. And I just wanted to let you know, that I trully feel happy for you, because we all can see how happy this makes you 🙂

Thank you so much for everything you’ve taught us.
And: CONGRATULATIONS on the new book! ???

    • Jennifer - Team Forleo

That’s so kind of you to say, Maria, thank you so much! We can’t wait for you to get the book in your hands soon!

  83. Kivac

Thank you for such a wonderful and emotional interview. I cannot wait for my pre-order to reach Europe. I already learned a lot by watching your videos and I will sure learn more and progress after reading your book. I also learned a lot from Kris as I currently follow her coaching classes. Marie and Kris, cherish your friendship and enjoy many many glitter pens and rollercoasters!

  84. Erin

Again, knocking it out of the park.
I love that can look to women like you both and believe that I am part of it all.
Also, I am glad you talked about the expansion and contraction. We need to talk about this more and being in our bodies and listening to it whisper and then yell.
I recently made a change at work where I had to step away, say no, becasue the contraction was becoming debilitating. And now, I feel like I can breath.

  85. I went to see you in NY this last week. And what I got from you is this I have been having so many excuses for so long. There are women out there who need my help and they can not find me. Because I am not there for them to find me. It is time not to hide pretending I have a business. It is time to own my business.

    • Maja - Team Forleo

So much yes to this!!! You got this, Olga, and all of us here are cheering you on!

  86. Ever since I watched your talk on Oprah, I have been using the phrase “Everything is FIGUREOUTABLE” and honestly it does magic. Not that I instantly figure it out but I become calmer, more reasonable and more determined to sort out that issue. Loved this interview because both you and your bestie were so open and honest about how you use the phrase in your lives. My copy is on its way to Lagos, Nigeria and I can’t wait to devour it. Looking forward to e-hanging out with you in October *smiles*

  87. Asmini Patel

YOU ARE BOTH AWESOME AND INSPIRE ALL THOSE THAT ARE READY. BAM. Particularly loving this interview and the candidness, Thank you!

    • Maja - Team Forleo

We’re so glad it resonated with you, Asmini! Thanks for being here with us!

  88. I have to admit that I’m late to the party. Only a couple months ago, Marie Forleo popped up on my radar. Now on her party train — and seeing so many familiar faces (I’m a Super Soul Sunday fan) — I have to say, I’m really inspired. And this interview with Kris Carr (one of my great inspirations) is truly amazing, so genuine and full of great life lessons.

I have to shout out a big “Thank You!” — this was the first time I heard Marie’s idea of a “multi-passionate entrepreneur,” which I completely relate to. For years I have designed architectural spaces and structures, but neglected my other creative passions. More recently, with two boys in high school (while still super involved in their, now international, soccer endeavors) and a supportive husband, I have been working to nurture those passions — writing, photography, food, culture, travel — and expand my design website, AMG Inspired, to celebrate and preserve heritage, quality and craftsmanship. I definitely feel that internal struggle Marie so eloquently described when talking about society’s expectations, but now also feel validated by her. So again, Thank You.

With much to learn (and the curse of a creative who never feels “ready”), yet with so much to offer, I’ve been diving in and following my bliss. My challenge is to build an audience on a limited budget (I also have a FB page) and monetize my travel-inspired passions as a sole-proprietor who is often on the move. Though I’m organized like Marie Kondo, I’m sure it would help to provide content more consistently (my writing pattern is more like that of Cheryl Strayed, mentioned in her interview: Thank You to her as well). I’ve been researching freelance work and affiliate marketing, but want to make sure it’s authentic and productive. Marie’s book will definitely be a helpful tool, like much of her advice already.

I would be super grateful to hear any thoughts or further suggestions from Marie and Team Forleo. And Congratulations! publishing this book! Super exciting!!

  89. The term “multi-passionate entrepreneur” is what gives me every day the motivation and confidence to create what I have to create in this world and never give up. Thank you, Marie, for your book and spirit, and keep going for your dreams for us!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

We adore you, Llyane, and are SO excited for all you’re creating in the world!! XOXO

  90. Elyza Bleau

I have been with Marie since the brick wall days and have loved Kris Carr for almost as long. I’ve been through b-school, and a million other things so I’m very excited to dive into this book.

Watching this was fun, but I just wanted to say something about the American and European love of the usage of “perfectionism”. Growing up, my mom used that word so much for specific people in my family including me. I was (and often still am) very hard on myself to achieve what’s expected and to paint a picture that others want…even when I’m going after what I want. To the point that I spent many times over the years terrified to leave my house.

I’m not a perfectionist. When I finally saw the right doctor, they noticed that I had classic signs of OCD. It’s a real mental “leech” as I like to call it, and it can drive people to places some couldn’t even imagine. The relief of realizing that I’m not just “striving too hard” but actually have a mental health issue was helpful. But it’s been a long road to even try to maintain a job to support myself and be independent.

OCD isn’t figureoutable. I’ve tried everything to “heal” it. But how I respond to it and life is. Every time I have to have a panic attack in the bathroom at work, I remind myself that this is figureoutable. That someday I can find a place that’s more supportive of me. That if I can hold down a job, then there’s also a way to figure out how to work for myself in my multi-passionate universe and actually make money and sustain it. Marie’s always reminded me I’m not the only misfit out there. I’m just a misfit with a brain that likes to take a road trip I didn’t ask to go on. I’m still looking for its gift along the way.

I guess someone can be a perfectionist, but for people with actual OCD, please know that it can take a team just to help me to leave my house and go to work. I’m not just “particular” or “neat” or “OCD about this” or “perfectionist about that”. I believe in wins like making it to work and staying the full 8 hours. In making it through school for web development. In getting back to writing music after a heartbreaking band breakup that changed me as a person. In getting back up and doing it again. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be here. But I do have to make up other excuses to get the support I need at work or from teachers etc because people don’t believe that OCD is anything more than perfectionism. And that is the issue I’d like to see change.

Thank you, Marie, for always believing in all of us misfits. Being reminded that I’m a square peg every day can be exhausting but it’s always great to know there’s others nearby. I’m excited to dive into the book you’ve been talking about for so long.

    Many thanks,

    • Julia - Team Forleo

Elyza, thank you so SO much for sharing this here! You expressed this beautifully, and we truly appreciate your wisdom and experience. We believe in you 100000% and adore your positive, everything is figureoutable approach to life’s (sometimes heartbreaking and seemingly insurmountable) challenges. You inspire us and we’re infinitely grateful to have you as an amazing part of our community! XOXO

  91. Emilia JOHNS

Oh I’m in tears listening to this as it’s so profoundly hitting home for me and making me realise that I’ve just let my time slip by because I can’t figure it out and I’m constantly procrastinating and doubting my abilities and myself as I’m not sure what my purpose or unique skill is but I know I’m worth more and destined for better things. I will get my shit together. Thank you so much – can’t wait to get the book. Oh and your friendship with Kris is just gorgeous and special. You two are such beautiful souls, the energy is just electric.
I have enjoyed following, listening and doing your courses and Kris’ also.
My one regret is that I’m missing your tour in Melbourne as I would of just come back from holidays in Italy.
    Many thanks Emilia xxx

    • Julia - Team Forleo

Emilia, you are SO deserving of your dreams. We’re happy to hear this conversation was inspiring for you and hope the book will continue to guide you forward. You can absolutely figure this out – we promise! Sending so much love and encouragement your way.

  92. Leigh Ellis

Thank you, Marie and Kris, for letting me hang out with you!! I am just starting Everything is Figureoutable and I am loving it. Marie, reading the book and listening to you talk about the ideas and principles, I can feel that you have gone deeper than I have ever felt from you before. I am resonating with what you’re offering here very deeply and I am very much looking forward to the course in October. Brava honey! This is an incredible achievement and a gift to the rest of us! Again, thank you!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

Leigh, thank you SO much for these kind words! We’re thrilled to hear you’re enjoying the book so far. We can’t wait to connect with you for the Immersion Program in October – it’s going to be amazing!

  93. Okay, so I love Kris Carr. Crazy Sexy Cancer is so awesome. Not having cancer, of course, but all else. Marie, I just got your book in the mail and am tearing into it. I have cried on, like, every chapter. Ugh, tissue please. Anyway, I am so inspired by the fear and the other four-letter words you point to. I am really grateful and will be camping out (digitally anyway) for the start of B-School in February. You rock girlfriend.

    • Caroline - Team Forleo

Oh, we’re so glad to hear you’re enjoying Marie’s book, Marjorie! We hope to see you in B-School this year 🙂

  94. Loved every minute of this interview and am really loving the book. I want to give you a special shout-out for “going there” around food prep and meal planning! Part of my health coaching business is teaching people to to create 21 meals a week from scratch with out spending their lives in the kitchen (I call it Fl!p Your K!tchen® ). And yes—you can do it without meal kits, apps, online recipes, Pinterest, which goes precisely to your point about getting offline! Thanks for this lovely book, which came at the exact right time for me in my life and business.

  95. Benson Modie

    Great conversation…..wonderful lessons…….and hugely inspirational!!!!!

  96. Satoko

I want to send a big thank you to both of you, Marie and Kris, for your strong yet heartwarming encouragement to lead a life. I am a B-Schooler and passionate reader of emails and books from both of you, and I’ve been encouraged a lot so far by your messages, which have changed my mind and attitude toward facing life, making me more passionate, strong and positive. Please forgive me if my word choices are awkward—English is my second language and it’s hard to learn, but even here I can see my little progress that I could share my thoughts, in foreign language, overcoming fear and shame— It’s because my wish to say thank you to both and wish to connect with you are much bigger than my fear. You are moving me forward.

  97. Courtney H

Just purchased my copy! I’m excited to dive right in. I really enjoyed this conversation between you and Kris and the honesty and openness of your dialogue. You are both remarkable women. Thank you both for all that you do!

    • Jennifer - Team Forleo

Thank you for your kind words, Courtney, they mean so much!

  98. Rasa

Great, great, great video!! Love Kris & Marie and what they both do!! HAVE to get the book now! Much love.

  99. paras kc

    great post maire

  100. This video gave me a boost of inspiration. Don’t let yourself wallow in negative thoughts. Not only is that unproductive, but it’ll steal your future.

  101. Colleen

Amazing, loved it…had my notebook open, and took two pages of notes on this episode!! So many great takeaways! you do of course highlight many, but so often I have to pause, write down what you just said, then play again. “Things that we once Believed, that we don’t have to anymore, there in lies the possibility of change, should you want to”.
AND.. Perfectionism is deadly!.. (acccckk! sooo true!).. Progress… not perfection”…
…” You can have high standards without falling into the trap of perfectionism, where you beat yourself up, you don’t allow yourself to grow, and you never actually put things out there to iterate over time…”
As always, Loved it! Two of my FAVOURITE people to follow!
Thank you for the insights!! love you both,
