Have you ever wrestled with a thought or problem over and over until you’ve made yourself sick? Do painful experiences ever play on repeat in your mind?

Deep down, you know this — negative thoughts can wreak havoc on your relationships, health, happiness, and the work you do in the world. But it doesn’t have to be like this. While it’s easy to think, “Well, if I solve [Problem X], everything will be better,” it’s not always that simple.

Today’s MarieTV guests, Krishnaji and Preethaji, are meditation experts who believe that inner peace happens when we shift from a “suffering state” into a “beautiful state.” Their technique is a game-changer for managing stress and cultivating well-being.

As Krishnaji so wisely says, “We think if we get wealthier, we become happier. If we look more beautiful, we become happier. But we constantly see that people are actually becoming unhappy. Which means…”

Action that springs from a beautiful state leaves ripples across the planet. @pkconsciousness Click To Tweet

“We must learn to master our inner world.”

Through their philosophy and meditation school, O&O Academy, Krishnaji and Preethaji have helped thousands of people around the world. (You may have heard of their Ekam World Peace Festival or Preethaji’s Tedx Talk in Kansas City.)

Their new book, The Four Sacred Secrets for Love and Prosperity: A Guide to Living in a Beautiful State, is full of practical exercises and powerful truths — many of which you’ll witness firsthand during our interview.

The more you practice these principles, the more you hardwire your brain to better handle daily stressors. The result? More happiness, peace, and belonging, no matter what life throws our way.

You’ll also learn:

  • The only place to find true happiness (hint: it’s not “out there”).
  • A simple meditation that can help you heal negative thoughts and emotions.
  • Why your ideals may be causing you more harm than good.
  • One GIANT clue that you’re not living in the present moment.
  • How certain thoughts actually shrink your brain — and how to avoid them.

If you’ve ever struggled to quiet the incessant and often negative chatter of your mind, watch this episode now.

Beautiful! ? After a week of (yes, self-obsession induced) suffering this episode has shifted my perspective and mood entirely, and for that i am very grateful. I will be bookmarking this for future reference ?

I love the differentiation between challenge and suffering: challenge does not require suffering. I have heard “suffering is optional” many times before, only this time i get it! (Cue: Angel chorus… ahhhhh! ?)

Thank you Marie & team Forleo for sharing Preethaji & Krishnaji’s message with your audience, and for consistently showing up and shining your lights too ? ? ✨

    • Dusa Naili

I share with you a similar insight Helen.
Hearing from them that even the plants and animals have challenges and that we are to connect from a place of onness to better solve our problems is beautiful to hear.

It gave me a beautiful calmness and encouraged me to prioritize my mediation practice more.
      Lots of Love to All

Thank you Marie for sharing I was wondering if you heard of this self help program. It looks like a great program I was just looking for some options before I made my decision. By the way I love the content you been posting,

    • Heather- Team Forleo

Helen, we’re so glad that this message landed right in your heart. Sings angels, sing! Thanks for being here with us- we appreciate it more than you know.

  2. Kirsten

Hi! First of all, thank you for this great episode!

I had some thoughts about the self-centered nature of a specific kind of suffering. How about suffering as a result of empathy? For example, if a dear friend goes through something horrible and I feel so deeply for them that I suffer too, can this be self-centered too? This happens to me quite a lot and sometimes it feels like it results from being hyperconnected as opposed to being not connected enough. But if I think about it for a while, I can see how sometimes this kind of suffering can be self-centered too. Maybe I suffer because I want to take away someone else’s suffering and I am not able to do that. Maybe the key here is to be aware of these thoughts and feelings and know that they have to deal with their own suffering and that my love and support is enough.
Still, sometimes I just feel someone else’s sadness and it overwhelms me. I guess awareness and focusing on being connected is most helpful in these situations too.

It is very interesting to see how their teaching applies to so many situations! I think this can be very helpful to a lot of people. I am definitely putting this book on my ‘to-read’ list!

    Thanks again!

    • Heather- Team Forleo

These are such great questions and ponderings, Kirsten. You can literally find your answers in your words if you look closely 😉

What also can happen is that we sometimes feel the suffering of others because we’re sensitive beings ourselves and we take that on. Being aware of it and learning how to shift the focus is a great tool to give yourself and this episode truly speaks to that.

You’re doing beautiful work, Kirsten. Your heart is brave and showing up. That makes the world a better place. xo

I am confused by what was said concerning the disconnection being the source of our suffering. To whom, or to what are we disconnected from that causes the suffering in our lives. To me it is the disconnection from the Divine that causes the suffering and therefore we must take the steps designed by the Divine to realign ourselves with the Divine. In my understanding, the soul, which is the true self, is connected to all of creation and must maintain our connection with its Creator in order to thrive. From the time we are born until we die, we have a pure connection with the physical world and only a sparse connection with the Creator, who is spirit. Our relationship to the Divine differs from religion to religion and for those who are freed from the stigma of their religion, can explore the reaches of the others in order to find truth within their wholeness. There you’ll learn how to maintain that spiritual connection free from the confines of its individual parts. Therefore bringing the full connection of body, soul and spirit, which in my understanding is the focus of the beautiful mind spoken of by your guest today.

Please tell me where I’m off and correct me so that I may better understand what was expressed.

    • Mona Kelly

I don’t believe you are off. I personally believe that, one can only be truly connected by being present and that, the only way to being present is by being in our body, aka being grounded (which is my work).

  4. Jen Peralta Mercado

I was so eager to watch this episode once I saw just the tittle itself. I am in this constant state of worry, overthinking and anxiety that I have come to realize that I am starting to live my life in that state and that is not what I want for myself. I worry so much about the past, my day and the future that forget not even thinking about the present. I can’t even enjoy a simple scoop of ice cream that use to make me so happy on a hot summer day. This episode definitely helped bring more awareness that I need to take a bit of a step back and check in with myself.

    • Heather- Team Forleo

Being aware is the start of the journey for sure, Jen. Taking time to allow yourself to step back, notice, check-in, breathe- it all helps you to reduce that worry and come back to what is in the moment. This is heartfelt work and you’re doing it. Sending you lots of love and compassion. xo

  5. Mona Kelly

Thanks for a great episode! The distinction between suffering and challenges was such a great realization and my key take-away. Thanks again, Mona

    • Marcus Sackie

Hi my dear friend I just want to appreciate you for having me to have been part of this important occasion. It is my greatest dream to make a kind white women like Marie or any of the best friends you are. I pray that God give me women among you that will love me the best ,I will love her the best too.Think you, I love you all.

  6. Skye

What lovely people, thanks so much for bringing them into my day. I’ve been doing so much work on this lately and focussing on clearing my ego and the practice they did showed me some thoughts I was having that had absolutely nothing to do with the ‘focus’ of the thoughts and 100% to do with me projecting my own issues. Such good work, we need so many more people like these and many more like Team Forleo to give them an audience. God bless ☺

  7. Lisa

Truly a beautiful message! I Love being in nature at a time of confusion because it helps me to become present. Nature is beautiful. Now after observing this video and hearing we can choose to do something about living from a suffering state to live from a beautiful state of mind is a way of being I can embrace. Thank you! Thank you!

    • Heather- Team Forleo

Isn’t that the most freeing idea, Lisa?! Here’s to more of us embracing that idea and also enjoying the beauty of nature. Thank YOU for being a part of this beautiful community and sharing your heart with us today.

  8. Lucienne

Great discussion. What stood out for me beyond acting from a beautiful state is:
Be present so you can be appropriate to the situation or space …….
We all need to live the true identidy – learn to connect, learn to love to truly all become one. No whoohoo – it is as simple as that.

  9. Amy

Wow. I desperately needed that. I know I shouldn’t feel shame admitting this, but I’ve been so engrossed with myself lately, feeling depressed, lost, confused -disconnected. ? I woke up today engulfed in anxiety, but after watching, I changed the trajectory of my day and got my power back. ?? My biggest takeaway is how quick and easy (and much-needed) it is to put this into practice! I cannot get over how different – how much better- I feel after that super quick exercise. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ?? That was beautiful. ?

    • Heather- Team Forleo

AMY! This is amazingly powerful and beautiful. We’re so happy that this episode has been helpful for you today and may it continue to guide you each and every day. Take back your power and make it the best day. xo

  10. Linda

    Thank you.

  11. Judith

What I took away from this beautiful process was the meditation. Identifying the emotion you are feeling and then visualizing a bright light moving from your heart to the center of your brain. This is the release of the emotion to our Higher Power.

    • Heather- Team Forleo

You are so right, Judith. Thanks for taking the time to do the meditation and share your lovely energy with us today. We’re so glad that you enjoyed it.

  12. Sondos

This is really a wonderful reminder of the need to cultivate rising above the self. A deep realization that external stimuli condition is to obsess about the self is so helpful. I think it just put us in a mindset of abundance rather that scarcity that allows for acting from a place of grace. Thanks Marie

  13. Christine

How beautiful and peaceful these two special people are. Thank you sharing. This episode was so delightful to listen to this morning. I felt what resonated with me was checking your inner “state” beautiful vs suffering often.
I have learned this as “distraction” however, this hit home that suffering really is disconnection on many levels. Just a very delightful episode and a fantastic reminder. May we all live in a beautiful state of being ?. Much love to you, ? Christine

  14. Kathleen Carr

    Hello Marie,
I loved your guest today. Lovely messages for yourself, family, friends and the World. Connection to people in a calm and happy mind. Being aware of your thoughts as we walk and through the world. The meditation was so peaceful for me it brought happy tears to my heart. I am connected to my inner thoughts. I know how to take the time to just BE! I look forward to buying their book and yours. I might even see you at one of your shows?
    Thank you for being you!
I turned my sister on to you. She loves you too
    A gift from Me
    Love is the core energy

  15. So picture the two monks, think of them as novices, with shaved heads: one is Whiteman ( = YesMe ) and one is Blackman ( = NoMe ). Both have been told that they’re not supposed to touch the ladies, both of them know what the real world consequences are. In To Kill a Mockingbird, it almost gets a man killed, and that was a fairy tale. And now we have all seen the video proof, time and again here in the 21st Century, that just being Blackman (or Otherman or Brownwoman or Gaywoman or Transquestioning) in a “beautiful state” will still get you killed even if you don’t lift a finger, if the wrong Whiteman is in a “suffering state” nearby.

  16. Libby Espeland

This was beautiful! Thank you very much for sharing, and for bringing to light how easy it is to live, or continually be conditioned to live, in our suffering state. I have a lot of work to do (and work I WANT to do!) on myself in this department, but the impact it could have on our world – absolutely beautiful. I want to live in a world where connection is valued and promoted. Thank you again!

  17. Lori

Such an amazing discussion. Realizing that I have been living in a state of suffering AND that I have the power to change my thought process with these simple steps will make such a difference in my life. I have to admit that I sometimes get so stuck on “being right”, not in the sense that someone directly did something wrong but they did not do something the way I think is the “right way”. And I have trouble getting past my frustration in the situation, that I cannot move past this and see clearly.
Great episode! Thanks to Krishnaji and Preethaji for joining you on the show today, Marie. And to you, Marie for caring so much for your audience and bringing Marie TV to us.

  18. Jerry Jean

But is it possible to always stay ‘beautiful’ as we pursue our dreams. I created my Vision Board from a beautiful state. But I realize that after the initial beauty, there is a lot of huffing and panting and ‘war’ to actually bring my dreams to fulfillment. How do we marry the ‘beauty’ of the initial inspiration with the actual ‘war’ of actualising our ambitions?

    • Renee – Team Forleo

Hi Jerry! What a great philosophical question, and it sounds like a great idea to journal and meditate around. Your comment reminded me of Steven Pressfield’s book, “The War of Art.” He essentially compares part of the creative process to a war against “resistance” so his ideas may resonate with you. Marie interviewed him earlier this year on MarieTV:

Thank you for sharing your insights and questions with us!

    • Chelsea

      Hi Jerry,
I think that the beautiful state from which you created your vision board can also be achieved as you move toward your dreams. Instead of looking at it like you’re going to war/battle for your dreams, simply address each challenge as it arises. Be aware of your self-talk as you address these challenges. These challenges are external and do not define your worth, ability, or who you are. As Marie says, “Everything is figureoutable.” Spend time each day doing what makes you feel connected, be that meditation, walking through nature, sitting by the water, or listening to beautiful music. Work on responding to external events while maintaining a beautiful state, as opposed to reacting with frustration because you allow them to disturb your inner world and define the way you view yourself.

We live in an age that fetishises the “hustle,” but perhaps a constant state of struggle doesn’t lead to true happiness, joy, or a beautiful state. Perhaps a beautiful state comes when you are truly present and can see the path you want to take clearly, so you can take mindful steps each day towards where you want to go, without getting upset if you stub your toe along the way. Hope that perspective was helpful in some way! All the best to you on your journey!

      • Jerry Jean

Thanks Chelsea. This is the first time, I think, I’ve actually commented on something on the Internet. Feels beautiful to find a connection and receive a respone from across the planet. Thank u for your thoughtful response.

  19. Priya

Its amazing how the universe works. I had just started on the powerful book called ” The power of now” by Eckart Tolle which speaks of the importance of being connected and being conscious of everything that we do. And this interview was awakening and reinforced the journey that I have started.Everything in life starts from the inner state in contrary to the common way of seeking pleasure elsewhere. Simple yet powerful. Each one of the living being in this world deserves to be happy from within. May every one embark on the journey of consciousness to make this world a beautiful and peaceful place for all. Thank you Marie and team for putting this together,

  20. So much wisdom in this video. “Suffering is the inner dialogue we carry within ourselves”
I teach people how to redefine their perception, and in a different language, it is like picking one of these two states. I just word mine from my MSc in Neuroscience, but the concept, the act of shifting perception is exactly this. <3
The disconnection piece is massive, too. I specific support people to reinvent or redefine their life without burning the bridges of their "old self" because we need connection, even to those painful or not-quite-right-past-places… They are our roots. And we can still be a 'new self' or reach for our potential while connected, in some ways at least, with the past. And I definitely find people who don't have that are in a state of suffering.
All of the links to disconnection take me back to Brene Brown's braving the wilderness too. <3 About knowing people up close.

  21. Yes Marie. They are right on.
And this episode goes with book: Success Trough A Positive Mental Attitude.

  22. This is a powerful thing we can all do to have a massive impact on the world. I’m going to commit to doing this practice as much as I can. Thank you so much for sharing! Beautiful people doing beautiful work. xoxoxo

  23. Brianna Turk

“A spiritual right action is not born out of an obsession… action that emerges from a state of connection will never be a wrong action.” I have so many more insights but this one truly touched my heart. It is easy to become obsessed with our goals that we forget to take into consideration those around us. Anything beautiful in our lives is born from connection. It’s a place I constantly have to bring myself back to in the midst of life’s challenges. Thank you for this wonderful interview!

  24. Marilyn Haverly

This conversation resonated with all that I believe and want to live into. The practice we did together was really wonderful. Thank you so much for bringing these guests to your show and to my attention.

  25. I don’t think it’s true. Over and over and over it’s been proven that unhappiness, especially in America is caused by Inequality. Inequality is the source of a crappy life .
“The depth and scope of this problem requires difficult political fixes, such as long-term investments in public health and education. It requires developing new forms of social assistance—and language—which encourage hope rather than stigmatize poor recipients—something that Latin Americans have done successfully in recent years. It also requires reducing the distance between the lives of the rich and the poor, so that attaining success—and living the American Dream—is not something that seems forever out of reach for the poor. Finally, tracking well-being as a complement to GDP, as many countries are already doing, would provide an important gauge of the happiness and health of our society in the future—and prevent us from being as surprised by such trends as we were this time.”- Brookings Institution “Unhappiness in America”
    Carol Graham
    Friday, May 27, 2016
” Part of the American Dream is class mobility. You’re born poor; you work hard; you get rich. It was possible for a worker to get a decent job, buy a home, get a car, help his children go to school. It’s all collapsed.”-Noam Chomsky 2015

DR. NOAM CHOMSKY: (c. 0:17) “Each time, the taxpayer is called on to bail out the crisis, increasingly the major finance institutions. If you had a capitalist economy, you wouldn’t do that. In a capitalist system, that would wipe out the investors, who made risky investments. But the rich and powerful, they don’t want a capitalist system. They want to be able to run to the nanny state, as soon as they are in trouble and get bailed out by the taxpayer. That’s called too big to fail.”

But here is what the Happy Media, the ambassadors for the super rich, teach us “The working classes, comprising tens of millions of struggling Americans, are shut out of television’s gated community. They have become largely invisible. They are mocked, even as they are tantalized, by the lives of excess they watch on the screen in their living rooms. Almost none of us will ever attain these lives of wealth and power. Yet we are told that if we want it badly enough, if we believe sufficiently in ourselves, we too can have everything. We are left, when we cannot adopt these impossible lifestyles as our own, with feelings of inferiority and worthlessness. We have failed where others have succeeded.
“We consume countless lies daily, false promises that if we spend more money, if we buy this brand or that product, if we vote for this candidate, we will be respected, envied, powerful, loved, and protected. The flamboyant lives of celebrities and the outrageous characters on television, movies, professional wrestling, and sensational talk shows are peddled to us, promising to fill up the emptiness in our own lives. Celebrity culture encourages everyone to think of themselves as potential celebrities, as possessing unique if unacknowledged gifts. It is, as Christopher Lasch diagnosed, a culture of narcissism. Faith in ourselves, in a world of make-believe, is more important than reality. Reality, in fact, is dismissed and shunned as an impediment to success, a form of negativity. The New Age mysticism and pop psychology of television personalities, evangelical pastors, along with the array of self-help bestsellers penned by motivational speakers, psychiatrists, and business tycoons, all peddle a fantasy. Reality is condemned in these popular belief systems as the work of Satan, as defeatist, as negativity or as inhibiting our inner essence and power. Those who question, those who doubt, those who are critical, those who are able to confront reality and who grasp the hollowness of celebrity culture, are shunned and condemned for their pessimism. The illusionists who shape our culture, and who profit from our incredulity, hold up the gilded cult of us. Popular expressions of religious belief, personal empowerment, corporatism, political participation, and self-definition argue that all of us are special, entitled, and unique. All of us, by tapping into our inner reserves of personal will and undiscovered talent, by visualizing what we want, can achieve, and deserve to achieve, happiness, fame, and success. This relentless message cuts across ideological lines. This mantra has seeped into every aspect of our lives. We are all entitled to everything.”-Chris Hedges

57% of state capital goes to our war machine to blow up brown people sitting on oil reserves around the world. So the problem with unhappiness is directly attached to the flow of state capital.
“Inequality fuels social problems like crime, homelessness, drug addiction, teen and unwanted pregnancies. The only people it’s good for are the Billionaires and morbidly rich. *The greater the distance between the very rich & the very poor, the more unequal a society is… the more, the higher the rates you have of diseases of all kinds, of drug addiction, alcoholism, teenage pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, of unwanted pregnancies, and abortions as well… of crimes of homicide and suicide… high higher rates of mental illness, depression, lower rates of social engagement, lower rates of civic participation, including voting.
All of these social ills come out of a small group of people… literally just a few thousand people in the United States or a few thousand families in the US owning something like 70 -80 percent of the entire wealth of the country. Three guys owning 50% of the wealth of the entire country… Wealth inequality in the US is worse than it’s ever been, even worse than it was in 1929 which brought about the great crash…I think it’s a mental illness… these guys have obsessive compulsive disorder, they’re hoarders.”-Thom Hartmann

So unhappiness has been shown to be related to negative pervasive external factors. The people I quoted are all extremely prolific award winning authors, entrepreneurs and top achievers in their fields.

  26. This is so right up my ally. Thank you Marie and Team for always giving such beautiful points and discussions for the heart and soul. It keeps my creative juices flowing and allowing me to journal even deeper. Especially helping to articulate something I am wanting to share with my circle of people, and also helping me to open up even more to what I need to hear. I needed to hear this right now. Thank you. Love you! – nyla

    • Renee – Team Forleo

We’re so glad this episode found you when you needed it most and unlocked further ideas and creativity! Thank you for sharing your heart with us.

  27. Dear Marie and your guests:
Thank you very much for this insightful discussion. Two points stood out the most as I listened: The difference between a challenge and suffering. We all face challenges, but our response to them determines whether or not we suffer. This is a great reminder the next time a situation presents a challenge. I can look at it more objectively, ask -What can I do? or who can I be? to create at least a more positive state.
The other point that hit home for me was that suffering is a kind of self-absorbtion. It’s easy to get trapped in worry or feel disheartened when something unpleasant happens. I’ve learned to change these thoughts more quickly. Some actions: Choose to be grateful, get thoughts down in a journal, go for a walk to clear my head.
    Best wishes everyone! Beth

    • Renee – Team Forleo

Those two points stood out to me too, Beth! Suffering vs. challenge was a huge lightbulb moment, and I’m glad you felt the same. Thanks for taking the time to comment and we’re delighted this episode resonated with you! Happy journaling! ?

  28. Love this episode. Thank you for the example of peaceful living. J

  29. Jitendra

Thanks for this wonderful episode, Marie… Found some beautiful answer – to a question I have had for long – at 24th minute of this video : If you want to actually manifest, you need to feel connected And it is important to let go of the desperation and anxiety.

I guess, it is a bit of exercise with which it will be possible to calm mind (& let go of anxiety and desperation) in order to be connected, however, got an excellent as well as clear answer.
    Thanks again.

    • Renee – Team Forleo

Yay! We’re so delighted to hear this episode brought you some clarity, Jitendra! Thank you for sharing your heart with us, and all of us on Team Forleo are sending you lots of calming energy as you release that anxiety.

  30. Kelly

This was so needed! Thank you!

  31. Deb

Finally someone else says it……..WE ARE ALL ONE!
I loved this episode, just wonderful wonderful wonderful. Thank you for sharing this.

    My take away, stay connected!

  32. The last year was definitely one of suffering- and yes the circumstances were tough- but my belief that I’m a failure was what caused most of the suffering.
Having a gratitude dairy has changed my perspective and makes me realize my wealth success and deep beauty every day!

    • Renee – Team Forleo

      Hi Shira,
We’re so sorry to hear this last year was a tough one for you. All of us on Team Forleo are sending big hugs and love! And you’re absolutely right –– so much of our suffering happens in our own minds, and if we can learn to be mindful of our thoughts, the whole world opens up. Thank you for sharing your heart with us, and keep going!

  33. Jo

Thanks so much for this episode. It resonated so much. It is so simple when you think about it, are we coming from loving state or a state of suffering? Taking the time to be present in the moment to feel this is so important, yet so difficult if we are not used to it. We need this as a daily reminder. Imagine the world if everyone came from a loving state rather than a state of suffering. If this was virally broadcast to the world & people listened and valued such a way of looking at their own actions and thoughts, this would make the world a different place. Thanks ? I will be sharing this for sure.

    • Julia - Team Forleo

YES, Jo! You put that beautifully. Thank you so much for sharing this episode and spreading the love!

  34. Jacqui

I believe the Universal Intelligence has answered one of my questions through one of His many instruments here on earth via this video.

And one which resonates strongly is that my ideals is doing more harm than good; especially at my work place.

Thank you very much for sharing and teaching this so i can change for the better for the benefits of those around me including myself too.

    With gratitude

  35. All I need to do to crush my ego is acknowledge it ?

I loved this. It resonated so strongly ?

  36. beautiful. I need to watch it again. Thank you.

  37. Ang

I loved this episode very much. It resonated strongly for me in the part the gentleman said, “that when your putting so much love into ones wellbeing or life the things we want or need then come to us because they’re coming out of love when they do, n we are happy with however life goes, n that whatever comes to us were so greatful when it does, cause we’ve found inner peace n willing to be vulnerable n know will be okay risking (within degree) n knowing will be okay how ever life arrives n brings us what we see as a struggle a loss a challenge internal or external of life. We know cause we’ve learned n gained a greater outlook n perspective n feel a sense if peace that we are ready for whatever is n comes. I had some internal troubles I finally let my self hear feel n become vulnerable but, once I did the internal work on me, the external world around me slowly surrendered n help make each pursuit easier not fully but the ability to face n navigate alot more manageable even at times within those new ventures great emotions of all kinds arised yet great heart, compassion n ultimately love with the utmost intent to do good n give good n share love was the driving force to perpetuate to go forward through each venture n avenue that opened because I had worked so hard to allow my self to become internally n mentally stronger, somehow having just hope n faith at the end of the day was at times all i had, as my resources were often small, so i had to have love in myself n heart n know itll direct me safely n keep me afloat n to trust. Once i was able to do that each process to navigate made sense n i embraced. So the long n short of it, once u know yourself, but also know so much more growth continues even after doing the internal work, continue to be open state if mind n heart n continue to do the needed steps even if they are very slow n one by one, doing life, i find the things i fear have now always shown me the greatest internal rewards n as a result the gifts of love multiple even more because of it. The greatest joys have always come from the things i struggled with n or feared, n as a result made my life n those i love have a greater gift of peace joy n hsppinest derive from n shared. Thanks for the great video post, shared this one a ton. Xoxo ang

  38. Sruthi

That’s a beautiful knowledge which was given by Sri. Krishna ji and Preethaji. First of all thank you so much for this episode which made my day. From past 6 months I have been practicing these practices and experiencing many synchronicities happening in my life and the connection between me and my family and my friends and the people who are around me was increased alot and most of the things what I need is being done automatically, being connected with the universal consciousness and these practices are will bring the shift in our lives. I hope each and everyone in this world should give atry to do this practices atleast once , so that they themselves can experience the change in their lives. Thank you so much……?

Wonderful Sruthi, we LOVE hearing this! Thank you so much for sharing here.

Hi Marie! Thank you so much for this episode. I’ve been experiencing anxiety for a few years, and I’ve felt like meditation, creativity and close friends are the things that really helped me getting out of it… and it also happens that it’s three things that really helps you connected with something bigger than yourself, helps you get out of the obsession of yourself. I really love the way they put words on it. “Be the change that you want to see in the world”… Cultivate a beautiful state and it’ll make waves for this more peaceful and safe world that we want to create. Beautiful! Thank you!

  40. Very inspiring. I listened yesterday while multi-tasking. Then went back later to really get it all. And realized that when I started listening that first time, I was very much in a suffering state, feeling that inner disturbance, really all of what they said: irritation, as frustration, as loneliness, as sadness, as anxiety, as fear, as insecurity.
After that first listen? It was all gone. And I was able to get on with my day in a production manner.
Thank you for this enlightening and encouraging conversation!

Beautiful, Barbara – so thrilled to hear this helped shift your day in a positive way! Thank YOU for taking the time to watch 🙂

I have realized that although I have spent years trying to understand and move on from my challenges, that I have been suffering since I was an infant. The habit of suffering is almost innate within me yet this short broadcast has brought a great shift within because I CAN release the suffering by not being so self possessed with the cumulation that my suffering has resulted in. On the other hand, I am deeply spiritual and in connection with my higher self so this broadcast and my spiritual grounding will ‘gently’ dissolve my suffering so that I may feel again my true beautiful state/self.

Thank-you Marie, this broadcast out of all the ones I have watched has shifted my entire being into freedom which I know will occur. Blessings. Lori

    • Julia - Team Forleo

Glad that this was a helpful reminder for you, Lori. Truly, for all of us, returning to a beautiful state is a daily (sometimes moment by moment!) practice. Keep staying connected to your higher self – I love how you put that, gently dissolving our suffering. We can certainly all stand to be a bit more gentle with ourselves. XO

  42. Serene

It is always a record scratch moment when I hear my name being used. And often if my mind has wandered it is in hearing my name that I’m immediately drawn back to the present. So hearing the Serene Mind Practice… I had to rewind and listen again. So timely as I battle anxiety regularly these days. Oh the irony to be named Serene and to not have a serene mind. But this practice is definitely one I will be coming back to again and again. Thank you!

    • Julia - Team Forleo

What a gorgeous name you have, Serene! We’re so happy to hear this practice resonated with you and that you’ll be coming back to it. We hope it serves you well. Sending lots of love and big hugs your way!

You know when something lands on your heart and soul profound shifting your interior world, that is what happened with today’s episode for me. It’s as though I have been circling around this idea of self obsession lately as I advise my alcoholic friend to shift the thoughts away from self absorption, but it is me that needed to hear it. Seeing this negative pattern in him and its consequences so clearly helped me see it in myself. K&P summarized what I presently needed and I feel a sense of relief as a result. Now, to continue the practice of thought awareness, especially when I am heated over something, is my challenge. So grateful to Marie and her crew for the continued support and insights. Mind-blown today! Love you, Nisha F

    Hi Marie,
What an insightful and timely episode. I am a yoga teacher and have always believed that the practice is much more about the connection to self – in order to let go – to see what is needed within – to visualize it – from a place of non attachment., than getting stretchy and strong. It is a message I subtly try to weave into all my classes – with breath being the focal point of all movement and attention… to keep us present. Sometimes I “feared” that my messaging was off?! or not accepted? or too “woo wooey”.. but now…
I feel so happy to hear your guests explain what I feel and that they shared, in a way that was intelligent, clear and insightful and for that I thank them! My take away is that I will 1) get their book and 2)continue to share the vision of being connected as a key message in my class (now with some better dialogue!) 3) and to personally, practice connecting with what I feel more often and practice letting go and believing that the more I do so, the more connected I become to everyone and the more I will feel joy which will be shared with those around me. My inner life will be more easeful AND beautiful!! regardless of what my external pressures are. Namaste alana

  45. Beautiful episode and perfectly timed to echo what you taught us in the invisible barriers class, Marie… Stage 4: clearly visualize what you want… yes, yes and yes! Great episode, I liked the short meditation as well – excellent idea. Thanks to all in the MF team! xoxox

    • Jennifer - Team Forleo

So glad you enjoyed it, Cecile! Thank you for sharing your favorite takeaway today, really powerful stuff.

I do feel this way all the time that when I am more connected and aware of my feelings and the world around me, I become more aware of the inter-connected-ness or universal intelligence Preethaji mentions, that connects us all. I also see it as little signs or messages throughout my day. She says it so artfully here.

  47. Alexandtra

Just watched this & as i write am actually in a state of suffering wondering whether Team Forleo will see this comment, talk about being self-absorbed. But hey, i am now aware of my states and i really want to thank you for this video. Too much insight!!!! God Bless you Marie and team Forleo… The world is surely more peaceful when we move from an “i” state to “we” we are connected, we can gain so much from one another… Sending love & gratitude!

  48. It is so empowering to consider that we can make choices and find solutions to our obstacles, when we do so from a beautiful state. I have used my “chaos” and struggles as an excuse to explain why I am not living a life I want. But never considered how I am making that all about me and how making choices from my suffering state is keeping me there.

I have always appreciated the teachings of people who have embraced living in the present moment (Eckhart Tolle, etc.) But have always wondered how to stay present when it is a moment you don’t particularly like (i.e. kids crying, dog puking, etc.). But knowing that I don’t have to “get rid of” my challenges to be happy. That I have the power inside to be in the middle of a situation and make choices from a loving place. This has been a wonderful insight for me, thank you.

I can’t wait to read the book!

  49. Teresa Lee

What an inspiring interview and it’s so wonderful to listen to Preethaji & Krishnaji’s insights about how to live in the beautiful state.

  50. Such a simple answer to everything!
    Being connected.
It melts away all anxiety and expands our inspiration.
    Thank you all!

  51. Caroline WILLARD

Thank you so much for this episode (and also for the others of course 🙂 ). It was so much of a help ! It was full of strong powerful insights for me. These helped me progress and have a better vision and comprehension of how to shift into a beautiful state. I enjoyed so much I bought the book 🙂 And of course I also really appreciated the comments of Marie, that are always very helpful and powerful. I always feel understood, I feel that Marie understands reeeaally well the challenges we all face. I loved this video 🙂 so thanks again for sharing these beautiful insights of Krishnaji and Preetnaji. Without you, I surely would never have known them ! And thanks to Team Forleo for the transcript 😉 (from a French girl ;)). Looking forward for future videos ! XO Caroline

  52. Caterina Chiovitti

What I took away from this and am gaining at this present moment is freedom, yes! Freedom! Freedom from suffering!

  53. Hi Marie – This is a great reminder for me, as well as clarifying many things for me, the importance of committing to that daily practice that shifts everything. I really value the 4 steps. Also the insistence that when we’re in a disconnected state, nothing beneficial comes from that place and that each of our work is to get connected, and then live from there.

I loved the way you put the questions across too. Both profound, direct and you’re always bringing it back to us, the viewers, with a. keen sense of what we’re looking for, and seeking clarity on: I’m really grateful for that gift.

    Many thanks,
PS – the funniest thing is maybe it was the larger intelligence at play that brought me to watch this episode… life has been very full and as such I haven’t been able to watch the weekly episodes for a while. Last night was a horrific night when my 2 year old son decided the only way he would sleep was with me in his cot, and any attempt I made to move or get out, woke him and so on and so on which led to me lying there, wide awake, my thoughts increasingly monotonous and my whole physical and emotional state a world away from this beautiful state being spoken about in this interview! I got to have a few hours more sleep this morning, as my partner took the kids out, and the last dream I had this morning, was very small, it was of you, and in it you were laughing. And the feeling that came across was of this warm vibrancy that I am sure so many of us associate with you, and it really was the essence that pulled me out of bed to eat breakfast, and scroll through your blog in search of the interview I felt drawn to watch. And it was this one…Off to practice now.. Thank you x

  54. so inspiring and useful phrase I had see.

  55. Evelien Maes

Ok, I’m probably a bit late hare to join the discussion, but I just saw the episode and for me this was mind-blowing. Exactly what I needed. I have been feeling ‘suffering’ many many years now, but this year has been the worst. And I couldn’t seem to find a way to break the negative cycle I was in. I can change the outer world (new job, new appartement, new friends, …), but I’m still crying. I’m still anxious. I’m still angry. The definition of ‘suffering’ was a good one to hear… but the key moment in the episode for me was this: if you’re suffering, you’re constantly obsessed about yourself… Being obsessed with yourself, being obsessed with ‘doing the right thing’. Yes, guilty. I am engrossed with myself. I’m actually kind of in shock, realizing how engrossed with myself I am. It puts all my actions and all my feelings in a whole new perspective. And I feel that it’s going to take work to change my state. But it is good to know where to start :). Finally. Thank you Krishnaji and Preethaji, and everyone from Team Forleo.

  56. Asmin

Light and bright is how I feel after watching this. It coincides with what I’ve been practicing for a few years now since dealing with an office bully, self-doubt, being passed over, re-build self-confidence, letting go, finding inner peace, and focusing on my life goals. The inner work, along with ‘The Four Agreements’, meditation, and resources like this one, all resonate deeply on this journey.

  57. We can’t control everything, but we can always control our efforts and hard work we’re willing to put in with our own to hands.??

    • Jennifer - Team Forleo

      Well said, Divyesh!

  58. This really changed my mood, it is a wonderful meditation.
    Thank you for this episode.

  59. Christine Scardigli

Thank you. I loved this interview. I’m confused about the story of Confucius and the little boy. It didn’t seem to me that he was being overly honest. He just wanted to help his father. Could you explain more?

  60. April

It’s really interesting that to emerge from happy state, one not only needs to let go of the negative thought process, the self obsessed internal struggle, but also “idea based” thoughts however positive or perfect the idea is! Being a perfectionist with many “ideals”, I have limited myself and made myself and people around me suffer. Constantly worried that I am simply “not good enough” or how my parents and society will judge me, has blocked my flow and deplete the supply of intelligence needed for me to make the spiritually right decisions in my life.
Thank you for this episode, you have unblocked again a little bit of me. 🙂
