Is it possible to change culture... with a business? Abso-friggin-lutely.

Meet Katie Sturino. She wants you to love your body — and she’s not shy about it. In fact, Katie has been fighting for body positivity and size inclusivity for years, and she's using smart marketing and brilliant copywriting to make it happen.

Case in point? Her company, Megababe Beauty, sells nontoxic products in a way that makes thigh chafe, boob sweat, and butt pimples normal and fun to talk about.

Katie is also the brains behind the viral campaigns #SuperSizeTheLook and #MakeMySize. These have launched a cultural movement, prompting some fashion designers to start making clothing for a wider range of body types. Katie shares runway-inspired looks for women sized 12 and up on her wildly popular fashion blog, The 12ish Style. And as if that weren’t enough, her podcast, Boob Sweat, tackles all kinds of taboo topics with humor and compassion.

“Women are so hard on their bodies,” Katie says, and she’s on a mission to change that.

If you’ve ever felt too young, too old, too fat, too something, today’s MarieTV is a must-watch. Katie is a master at using her voice to push cultural change, and you’ll learn that you have the power to do the same.

We cover a lot of ground in this conversation, including:

  • 0:55 — How a struggle with thigh chafe launched an entire business.
  • 3:13 — What to do when people think your business idea is too “niche.”
  • 4:50 — The marketing genius that helped Megababe launch with a 5,000 person waitlist.
  • 11:45 — How Katie discovered an entire group of women who felt forgotten by the fashion industry.
  • 19:55 — What to do if you keep telling yourself, “I won’t be happy until I lose weight.”
  • 23:55 — The cultural narratives that are holding you back (and what to do about it).
  • 29:40 — A productivity challenge that will transform the way you work.

Katie and I are real and deep with each other in this interview because it’s such an important topic. Everyone — and I mean everyone — has received unhelpful cultural messages about their bodies. Doing this inner work will free you to show up in the world as you are, with zero shame.
