Shortly after my first cycle in B-School, I launched an Underwear of the Month Club and recouped my investment. I was amazed by how quickly it all happened.
Through the marketing strategies B-School taught me, I’ve changed lives. I helped a pair of twin sisters grieve the loss of their grandmother by making undies for them out of her old nightgowns. I’ve helped several women with a medical condition wear underwear without pain for the first time ever. Ever. Can you imagine feeling pain every time you put underwear on, and then working with someone who helped make that go away? It’s such an incredible honor and gift to work with these women. To get to know them and to be able to serve them in such an intimate way.
I quit my day job and have since brought on 5 contractors to help grow the undies empire. I’m measuring success in terms of money, yes, but also in wedgies avoided, clients’ tears of joy, giggles giggled, and panty parties — both literal and figurative. And in those measures, I might be the biggest success ever.
Each time I revisit B-School, I get something new out of it because I’m at a different place in my business. And so Marie, in this wonderful, affirming, quirky way, has been one of the constants on my brave entrepreneurial journey.
