Maybe it’s because I’m Italian. Maybe it ties back to my childhood and the hours I spent watching my mom cook.
No matter what the reason, I ***love food***. Like, seriously love it. Love to cook it, love to eat it, and love to try new recipes.
A few years ago, I cracked open a new cookbook and gave this interesting looking “Avocado Pesto Pasta” a test-drive. From the first creamy dreamy bite, both Josh and I were hooked.
Excited, I powered through over a dozen other recipes, and low and behold… I struck food gold! A whole cookbook of things that were:

It’s a wild experience here in NYC due to Hurricane Sandy.
The city is pretty much shut down. Both the streets and the shelves of the grocery stores are empty like I’ve never seen before.
While we’re praying for everyone to stay safe, I must admit that the break from the normal frenetic pace couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.
On Sunday we completed our final Rich Happy & Hot LIVE event.
What a way to close it out!
We had over 300 bright, loving and ambitious change makers from 12 different countries and 37 states joined us for this transformative experience. Donna Karan herself made a surprise appearance and every single one of our beloved speakers was absolutely spectacular.
By the end of the weekend, I was moved to tears by the loving energy, joy and gratitude I felt in that room. And, I’m beyond excited about the new experiences we’ll be cooking up for you next.
Speaking of cooking – today is our FIRST ever MarieTV cooking episode!

A few nights ago, I caught a few minutes of the Biggest Loser TV show.
The segment talked about childhood obesity and showed kids working out and trying to get in shape. I cried. These young kids were beyond huge. It was shocking and heartbreaking.
I had to turn it off because I couldn’t handle seeing beautiful little souls trapped in bodies that were so outrageously big, they could hardly breathe.
