2 Weird Money Habits That Train Your Brain for Abundance

I caught myself doing it again, just last week.

While I was walking down the street, one of my weird little money habits took over and I found myself crouched down in the middle of a very busy sidewalk in New York City.

After I broke from my trance, I stood up, smiled and kept walking with the bustling crowd.

What we say to ourselves in the privacy of our own minds matters. It drives our behavior, which drives our destiny.

Money's like you and me. It's attracted to respect and appreciation. Click To Tweet

While we may not feel or notice the impact of these small choices over a week or even a month, the cumulative effect of our daily thoughts and actions adds up to big results over time.

Especially around money.

No matter how much you have or don’t have, money is a topic that touches us all. My relationship with money has transformed over time, and it continues to.

Today, I want to share two of my weird little money habits that help me stay in a state of “enoughness”. Meaning, remembering that there’s more than enough to go around and I’m going to treat what I have in this moment with care and respect.

Tony Robbins & Marie Forleo: Money Master The Game

Have you ever been so fired up about a new book (or movie, show, restaurant, etc.) that you could barely contain yourself?

That’s exactly how I feel about Tony Robbins’ new book Money Master The Game: 7 Simple Steps To Financial Freedom.

I’ve been recommending it to everyone I know because it’s really good and this topic is really important. If you’re a subscriber, you remember my passionate email about it a few weeks ago.

The reason I’m such a fan of this book is because Tony has taken what can be very complex and often confusing topic  — creating financial freedom — and laid out a simple and do-able plan that the everyday person can follow.

This book simultaneously pissed me off (more on that in our interview) and got me extremely fired up to make changes. For myself, my team and my family and friends.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re just starting out and you’re in massive debt like I was when I first got out of school or you’re doing good but you have big dreams to do even better.

Because Tony’s book accomplishes something extraordinary: it’s both highly readable and highly tactical, helping both the novice and the more experienced investor create true and lasting wealth – for yourself, your family, your team and causes you believe in.

And today, I’m so very excited to share our interview here on MarieTV.

4 Money Beliefs That Limit Your Wealth Inside and Out w/ Kate Northrup

Over the weekend, I thought a lot about money.

I read a brave and eye-opening article in the NY Times from a self-confessed money addict, and had a few conversations with friends about the movie The Wolf of Wall Street.

I also did a lot of yoga and meditated on the subject — especially because I’ve started working on my next book, in which money (especially the making of it) plays a vital role.

As I’ve shared before on MarieTV, I feel blessed to have developed a healthy and even loving relationship with money. While that relationship is always evolving…

I’ve come to believe a healthy, respectful relationship with money helps us put it in its rightful place: it’s just one of the many resources we have to offer and share in this adventure called life.

No one will value you more than you value yourself. @katenorthrup Click To Tweet

I also don’t prescribe to a zero sum world-view based in scarcity.

Meaning, if you get more money (or love, attention, fill in the blank) — that I get less. Both science and spirituality show us that through collaboration, innovation, generosity and partnership — our collective resources can truly be infinite.

Without going too far down a philosophical rabbit hole, I’m so excited to share today’s MarieTV episode with you. So let me ask…
