How To Do It All: My Unconventional Advice to Fit It All In

Today’s episode may fall under TMI and, admittedly, my approach may seem crass to some.

But it’s my honest answer to what appears to be a staple of modern life: a massive and ever increasing pressure to do more, be more, create more and achieve more.

Between all the things you ‘should’ be doing to be your best (meditation, juicing, working out, etc.) and the professional demands on your time (writing, selling, marketing, working, social media, etc.), and the responsibility you have to family, kids, pets and friends…

It’s no wonder many of us feel like we’re barely staying above water. That’s why I was excited to hear from Angela, who wants to know my personal method for getting everything done.

When you know what’s important, it's a lot easier to ignore what’s not. Click To Tweet

While we’ve talked about productivity a lot before (and will continue to) I’ve never answered in a way that was quite so personal.

*Headphone alert for parents watching with kiddos or readers watching at work. Some bleeped out explicit rap lyrics appear in this episode.

While we had a lot of fun making this one, don’t let the good times gloss over the importance of the message. This episode shines a spotlight on one of the most crucial building blocks of living a full and meaningful life. A lesson that sadly, most of us don’t learn until it’s far too late.

You must know what’s truly most important to you and live accordingly.

How To Be Consistent: 5 Steps To Get Things Done, All The Time

Ahh, the power of being consistent.

It’s heralded as the strategy for achieving long-term greatness in almost any category: your body, business, art, relationships, emotional health or spirituality.

The problem? It’s the one thing we mortals can struggle with the most — especially when we’re trying to improve, well, anything.

Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently. Click To Tweet

Like it or not, being consistent is essential if you want to make any significant change in your life. It’s also a must have skill if you’re looking to kick some serious ass and become world-class.

That’s why I was happy to tackle this subject to help Kat, who wrote in because she’s struggling with her ability to stay on track. While I’m not perfect, I have been able to master consistency in a few key areas and, I gotta say, it’s made all the difference in the world.

The 4-Minute Method To Massive Productivity

I can’t help it.

I’m obsessed with finding methods that help me get more done, in less time and with less stress.

Partly, because my brain just doesn’t quit. It’s like a 4-year old who just ate 3 brownies.

There are soooo many things I want to create, see, learn, read, watch, and experience — that if I don’t give myself daily support and structure, I’d spontaneously combust.

If you plan on having a successful life, start by planning your day. Click To Tweet

The other reason is my ever-changing schedule. Between travel, shooting and the constant ebb and flow of life — there’s no “typical” day.

And, let’s be honest. As much as my inner good-girl dreams of having a set, uber-productive schedule (Snoozing by 11pm, meditating by 7am Marie!)…

My inner real-girl needs her chance to dance in the sunshine too. “Wait — what time is it. 1am? Of course we can watch another episode of Orange is The New Black!”

On today’s MarieTV, learn one of my most simple productivity habits for making sure I get the right things done everyday — no matter how wacky my schedule is.

How To Change The World & Live Your Purpose w/ Adam Braun

It all started in the club.

The music was thumping, the strobe lights were popping and this guy and I were pretty much shouting at each other.

While other tipsy clubgoers stumbled past us, I made him a promise. “One day we’re going to do something great together.”

For any movement to gain momentum, it must start with a small action. @AdamBraun Click To Tweet

Fast forward four years. We’re building three schools with that guy I met in the club — Adam Braun — and his incredible organization, Pencils of Promise.

Our school in Laos is complete and has 76 kids registered. The other two schools are still being constructed. And in four short years, my dear friend Adam Braun has launched a global revolution.

If you ever feel like you’re meant for more in this life but you doubt that one person can make a difference, you’re going to love today’s episode.

Why Smart People Underperform And What To Do About It w/ Ned Hallowell

There have been times in my life that I’ve felt like my brain was broken.

Whether I’ve had too many ideas swirling around and couldn’t focus, or I just started to feel crushed under the weight of everything that “had to get done”…

I’m no stranger to the frustration that comes when you can’t seem to get your potential to match your performance.

Smart people underperform because they fail to prioritize. @drhallowell Click To Tweet

Many folks who are highly creative and intelligent have a hard time channeling all that ambition and energy in a way that’s both productive and satisfying.

Some of us fall victim to destructive, addictive behaviors that harm ourselves and others.

Other times, we stay trapped under a fog of frustration that never lifts, unable to reach the greatness of our full potential.
