Ever wish you had more time to do the things that really matter? That your calendar felt exciting and expansive rather than stuffed to the max? When was the last time you were able to take time off… and not dread coming back to a million emails or a to-do list that’s a mile long?Whether you work in a traditional office, run your own business, or are a stay-at-home parent juggling endless responsibilities — “time freedom” can sound like a mythical phenomenon that only exists for the very rich or lucky. But thankfully as today’s guest, Laura Vanderkam, will tell you: Time freedom is real. Yes. It can be yours, provided that you’re willing to drop some bad habits and give yourself a much-needed reality check about how you’re actually spending your time. (Spoiler: The work Laura suggests isn’t easy, but it’s worth it 10X over.)

What is Time Freedom And How Do I Achieve It?

Time freedom means being joyfully productive without feeling constantly stressed about how much more you’ve got left to do. It’s not necessarily about doing “nothing” or just having a wide open schedule. Instead, time freedom is that satisfied feeling of knowing you’re deliberately spending your time on what really matters and ignoring the rest. Rather than feeling anxious, you feel that 24 hours is enough. This, of course, requires that you’re clear on your priorities and you’ve become an expert at saying no.With time freedom, off the clock will actually feel like off the clock. As time management expert Laura Vanderkam shares, your love/hate relationship with your schedule isn’t about not having enough time. It’s about how you use the time you have. Laura’s written a number of books on this topic, including “Off the Clock,” which reveals the habits that can increase your productivity and decrease your stress.Join our conversation to learn:

  • How to find untapped hours in the day to do more of what you love.
  • The perfect way to structure your day — and exactly when to tackle your toughest projects.
  • When to schedule your most speculative, soul-searching work.
  • Mindset shifts that will extend time, reduce distractions, and even improve your memory.
  • Which goals will turn into major time-sucks (and which will actually help you get more done!).

Now, Laura and I would love to hear from you.

What’s one change you can make right now to experience more time freedom?
