If you spend enough time reading books and listening to audios about finding the key to success — it’s inevitable that you’ll stumble upon contradicting advice. Of course, there’s not one right formula or approach to be successful. Different success methods work for different people. (Different methods also work for the same person at different stages of life.)

But I always pay a bit more attention when a ‘key to success’ hypothesis is backed up by academic research. That’s why I was thrilled when my buddy Brendon Burchard told me about the high performance study he was doing for his latest book, High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way.

He’s spent the past three years interviewing and tracking highly successful people just to prove to himself that what he believed about success was empirically true. Guess what? Some of it was — but a lot of it was not.

Turns out, only six habits clearly lead to sustained, long-term success.

Some of these habits shocked him. Can we really stop hustling and make it to the top? What if the key to success was joy instead of grit? Peace instead of discontent?

If you’ve ever felt like you don’t “have what it takes” to be successful, this episode is for you.

Because what Brendon discovered over the past few years may turn everything you thought you knew about success upside down.

You’re about to learn:

✓  Why “hustling” and “grinding” are actually hurting your chances at sustainable success
✓ The 6 habits that lead to high performance — and which one shocked the pants off Brendon
✓ The strange way the top 15% of high-performers talk to themselves (warning: if you overheard them doing this, you might think they were a little crazy ?)
✓ The real difference between your feelings and your emotions
✓ Why you must take credit for your work — or risk losing it all
✓ The 2-part system Brendon uses to maintain high levels of energy throughout the day (skip to 24:12 for the low-down)

Please don’t ignore this message. Because if you continue to work yourself into the ground, you will inevitably burn out. I don’t want that for you. You have gifts to share, love to give, joy to experience!

So once you’ve watched, I’d love to know…

Which one habit from today’s show can you put into practice to experience more sustainable, enjoyable success? Is there anything we talked about that you’re already doing that you can re-commit to?

Share as much detail as you’d like in your comment. Thousands of incredible souls come here each week for insight and inspiration, and your story may help someone else have a meaningful breakthrough.

Important: share your thoughts and ideas directly in the comments. Links to other posts, videos, etc. will be deleted as they come across as spammy.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, watching and sharing your stories.

More people need to realize that working 24/7/365 indefinitely is not a wise approach to achieve long-term health, wealth or well-being.

P.S  We’re hiring again! If you’d like to join Team Forleo and you’re a hungry social media designer, website designer or customer service extraordinaire — we want to hear from you.

More information and details to apply are here. Deadline for application is September 25th. If not you, please pass this on to anyone who is focused, passionate and has a big heart 🙂 .
