Awesome information! Love that you always have a fresh message to share that is uplifting and encouraging. Can’t agree more with you about communication, one of the most important issues in love and business.

Hey Marie!

Ooooh, I love this topic – and love the perspective of looking at it like any other relationship. Makes total sense, especially since I spend so much time with my business! :)

Great tip about communication. That’s definitely something I can work on!! :D

marie February 11, 2011 at 3:29 pm

Good for you Jess! The communication one (especially listening to what your business/customers/team are telling you) is the most important. Keep me posted!

This is sage advice and I like that you are able to say it in such a fun and direct way. I agree with all of your points – especially about the open communication. So important and not to be overlooked. Thanks! (Oh and the rapping – priceless!!!)

My first coach (wow–seven+ years ago!) had an audio about meeting with your business and I can remember the first few times I set aside time to listen to it, I felt so silly. But setting aside that time to actually relate to my business made a huge difference then, and still does for me today. Thanks for these reminders, Marie!

Marie – isn’t it great how relationships and business intersect? Why, because they both involve people! I love how naturally you’re able to explain the synergy in like-like terms. Fabu biz nugget, baby! I will def be sharing with my peeps.

p.s. what skin care are you using? because you’re complexion is crazy fabulous. I just had to ask. :)

I’ll admit it. This is the first time I’ve clicked through on your newsletter, since I’ve never considered myself part of your target audience. In fact, I was just about to unsubscribe.

However, this is the wisest, most adorable bit of advice I’ve heard in ages. You are truly one smart cookie, Marie, and I’m hooked.

This is such an awesome video Marie!
Wow, you’re so pretty and I LOVE your jacket (cardigan?)
I love this whole Biz nugget theme – I’ve got to do something similar for my videos.
Not to mention – your so a great rapper ;)
Thanks for mentioning that you have to move on from your business when you’ve lost the passion or perhaps even grown out of it. That was a great reminder.

P.S – I’ve been reading through the handout (your hand out) from the Tony Robbins Money Masters program. It is SO AWESOME. I feel I understand it more now that I’m following you as well.

You are SUCH a high achiever, and you’ve accomplished so much, it blows my mind!

Anyway, enough for now.

A surplus of gratitude,

Renee.

I get a ton of emails, and yours is the only one I must stop to pay attention to. Love what you have to say. Great time of year (Feb) to remind us about relationships. I’ve noticed with facebook I feel like I’m communicating with my peeps. Now that I’ve started a blog I feel like I’m talking at them. This sums it up perfectly. I need to focus on my relationship with them, and the relatinoship of them to my products. I think that will help shift the focus into something more useful for them, thanks. PS I too was trying to work out what so fabulously different about you, you were glowing with health and great skin ;-)

Marie, I was thinking about this very topic, I come to my computer and there you are in my inbox! Since RHH Live (which has changed my life in soooo many ways), I have a whole new set of fabulous entrepreneurial ladies to interact with and I feel like I’ve fallen in love with a bunch of their businesses, they’re all so fabulous and inspiring!! But I was telling myself today that I need to make sure I keep the romance going with my own biz because just because a hot biz walks by, I’m married to mine and I love it :) Thanks for the reminder!!

Eddie February 12, 2011 at 7:57 pm

Marie, great video, but a couple of years too late for me. Everything you listed as not to do, I already did and got raped by my business partner (figuratively speaking). Reliving that makes me wanna blow my brains out. Where have you been all my life????! Everyone else, take heed!!!! LOVE WHAT YOU DO!

Anyway, keep up the good work and tell Josh that Raphael was a punk (j/k)!

Love you to pieces,

Eddie

I try to make sure I spend time with the parts of my business that I love as much as possible. Just like a relationship with a person, there are things I like doing with my business and things, well, not so much.

So especially when I find myself getting frustrated with the day to day activities, I spend more time focusing on what I love about the business and delegate more of what I don’t like.

Martina Iring February 14, 2011 at 10:14 pm

A very clever analogy Marie! I especially love the part about communicating openly with your customers. Such an important part of a successful biz!

Um, is it too much ask, but , uh – can you release that “Biz Nuggets” song on iTunes or something? Cuz, well, I like it…

Or not. Just a thought…

One of the most important things to me in my relationships is an element of challenge and education. My human partner and I have been together for 12 years now, and I still have no freaking idea how he works! He fascinates and surprises me every day, and I never get tired of being challenged to be an even better partner. (Well, okay. Sometimes I get tired of it. But never for very long.)

I’m new to the relationship with business, and I’m finding a lot of satisfaction in that same level of fascination and new learning.
