Today is my birthday and I’m one of those people who turns her birthday into a whole celebration month.
Why not, right?
Originally, I marked “no work” in my calendar for today. I told my team that I’d likely be off the grid. But seriously? I sprang up this morning feeling better and brighter than I’ve felt in years. And the truth is, I love love love what I do.
Especially because it allows me to connect with awesome people like YOU.
I’m so grateful for all that the magic that this year has brought and I’m over the moon about what we’re creating in 2011 and beyond.
I’m not sure if it’s age, or experience or something else all together, but I’m learning the key to business (and life) success for me is to integrate fun and creativity into everything I do.
I suspect the same may be true for you.
The good news is that you can integrate fun and creativity into everything you do right now. You don’t need permission. You don’t need another degree. And you don’t need more money, more time or more experience to make it happen.
All you need is you 
As you likely know, I’m a huge fan of hip-hop, dancing and good times.
At my event Rich Happy & Hot LIVE here in NYC (yes – it’s happening again next year), we premiered a little music video for our attendees. I wanted to create something to help them remember New York City and how awesome and inspiring it is to follow your dreams.
Plus, I never turn down an opportunity to dance, sing and rap – especially when Jay-Z is involved. (Side note: Jay-Z and I are both Sagittarius. His b-day is a few days before mine. Happy b-lated!)

Happy birthday and felices fiestas! One of my 2 daughters turned 16 today. She was born in Caracas so we’re celebrating in English and Spanish. (And btw I’m putting RHH on my 2011 calendar to BE there.) And from someone who has a boatload of college degrees, you don’t need a single one to succeed in life. Like Seth Godin says, getting good grades is like expertise in playing frisbee. Interesting, but doesn’t really have much of an impact unless you want to be a champion frisbee player.
